I think that the Wasteland tiles give a -1 to all adjacent tiles.
Planetary terrains only give boni/mali to the tile itself, no adjacencies for them. Wastelands give -1 to all placed on them.

I recently got a Resource on a class 4 planet, and mined it from space, but alas, it was on a Wasteland tile, so I got no benefit. I would not have colonized this planet had I known that. Sure, I can Core the planet, and nullify the -1 to all. But I'd like to know that I need to do that before spending a citizen on both a colony ship, and a governor. So I propose, somewhere along the Sensor line, we get the ability to scan a planet from space. Cost a Thulium
Just mined a planet for the much-needed Precursor Nanites - it was a class 4 planet so no need to do anything but mine from space. After a few turns, I realized it was not up on the top panel Resource Board, so I looked at the planet, and it gave the report "Tiles with a negative value do not provide resources" or some such. The Nanites were apparently on a Wasteland (-1 to all). Special resources should not be placed on special tiles. (edit: I ima
Get them all, and stomp any who try to take your planets. Or delay it, go for influence. Or just make a bunch of trade ships. Choices.
It is game breaking because you can never talk to the race again. It ALWAYS shows the same dialog and you can't close the dialog without making a selection.
"Game Breaking" means you cannot play the game because of this bug. This is not game breaking. It is exploitive. One can still play the game even with this bug.
Getting more CTD than usual, today. Different galaxy settings, different civs.
Space Elevators -> Planetology -> Xeno Manufacturing In addition to the first "Upgrade Manufacturing" it unlocks "Build Population" for the Yor Note that it also takes 1 each Durantium and Promethium to build population
I agree with most of this list, but the Ship Roles were a part of GC3, I do believe the Ship Roles are not being used in GC4 (or if so, in a much different way). This was the part of GC3 combat which was most broken, so I for one am glad to see it being changed.
Oh, I'm sure it is a bug. I was just observing that it gives anywhere from 0-2 tiles, and does always give the food bonus. They should either fix the tiles, or the text.
in 0.65 the trade route screen shifted to the Policies screen, lower left button, it is annoying and I hope they fix it in the next update.
I've experienced this, and also it giving only 1 tile. I think the tooltip should read "up to 2 tiles". The artifact always does give the promised food bonus.
The basic gist, I think, is that a balance needs to be had between ideology points gained, and how ideology points are used. Especially with the Arcean ships each gaining a Culture point (that's 3 early, 2 more not far behind) there aren't enough ways to go deep into a path right now. My basic ideas are (1- Policies went from +3 to +0, and this is too severe, make it +1 at least, and (2- make planetary events more common, maybe 25%, and see how it goes
@gypsy - there seem to be many more class 10-12 planets, and even some of the 2-4 planets have better resources. Certainly they are not worth ignoring.
I really want my economy screen back. Having different parts of it "back door hidden" in different areas is keeping me logistically informed enough to play, but ... I'd love to see what is going on all at once. It would not be so bad if not for food. The econ screen did GC4 stats on food. Nothing else does. But still. I want the rest too. All on one scrollable screen. (edit) and as OldSpider already mentioned, the only way to upgr
Yes, the reduction of planetary colonization events, and the lack of focus for policies (they went from +3 to 0, a huge experiment) makes ideological difficult on this alpha release. At least it is playable, and we have an idea of what Tourism will do.
Pirates do respawn early now, but the Space Monsters spawn ships rather than monsters. Not a huge deal, but it takes away from the aesthetic.
agreed, 10% seems sparse. But also agreed that 100% was a bit much, especially with the expanded Ideology options (you can get both sides at once now)
I deleted my "Documents / My Games / GalCiv4 /" folder and re-verified, and all loads great.
also on Windows 10, with up to date drivers. I tried verifying, but not uninstalling/reinstalling yet.
Same happens to me, eventually it crashes out.
The Data Bank screen no longer has Economy / Colonies / Trade etc, only as shown below.
The zooming issue I had yesterday doesn't seem to be happening today. It was a strange glitch. But the black ring is still around the sector perimeter.
the ring seems to be attached to problems with the zoom tools, for me. I can barely play, as every time I move my view, I end up in empty space.
me too, barely playable with the ring, and as well the zooming tools are all wonky.
I haven't gone for Bob yet, now for sure I will. I cannot invest enough energy to do so until the newest release.
