I think you are onto something I did not previously consider. I completely remapped my "Documents" folder to my local harddrive, which includes the "My Games" folder. On new system, I suspect this all gets mapped to OneDrive by default. Anways, I will keep an eye on it and see if the issue persist. tyvm
I suspect that one drive may be restoring the files. Can you try disabling one drive for the My Games\GalCiv4 director?
That is entirely possible. This is relatively new system and I am not accustomed to "My Games" folder being hosted on OneDrive.
Becomes more useful when viewing multiple leaders. Also looking at updating various tool tips to display real in-game trait descriptions vs current whimsical descriptions. (i.e. Dreamweaver )
This is the results of a preliminary test. 2 of the "Fluff" traits on the following Leader is using the gray scaled icons now. - "is supremely arrogant" - "scared in a duel" Where as the other 2 core traits are: - Embezzler - when assigned as a diplomat may siphon funds... - Underminer - when assigned as a diplomat, reduces resistance of host resistance by 10% <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/6/39/639228/25c7ff0d-fe12-418c-
Have worked on it all this morning, about to test it. Basic implementation is making a gray scale copy of most of the leader trait icons which will be used for the "Fluff" traits. They will still exist, just have less distinct icons than the core set of traits. The idea is that Leaders that have hard bonuses will be easier to find: +20% Foo
The following is a good trait description, but many of the 2023 traits do not include any of the relevant data. "Maintains a close relationship with an unbelievably brilliant friend from a foreign world. +30% Research when assigned as a Governor." Instead, players are provided rather meaningless descriptions like the following: <span style="color: #cccccc; --darkreader-inline-color: #c8c3bc
In contrast to the core set of Leader Traits, there is a set of 2023 Leader Traits that were added that have overly generic tooltip descriptions, resulting in them having undisclosed values during gameplay. Rather this is a bug or by design, it makes for the opposite of fun-play. Should not make players dig through the bowels of the XML files just to figure out what a specific leader trait is doing. <span style="color: #cccccc; --darkreader-inline-color:
I have decided that rather than fuss about it, to try my hand at modding it. Although I have published some Mods for other games, was not my intent to do the same for GC4 and will be my first attempt. [e digicons]:')[/e]
After a bit of review of the "LeaderTraitsDefs.xml" file, I believe the core issue is that when they added all of these "Background" traits, they did not add distinct icons for them, but just re-used the previously existing icons (from the original set of traits). This makes me very sad. [e digicons]:([/e] For example, "GovernorTrait_Doctor.png" was originally distinct and used but 1 or 2 times. But now it has been reused a total of 4 times, to include the "
FYI - I have Steam Cloud saves for GC4 explicitly turned off.
I am now playing via steam and have noticed more issues with Ship Design Templates than previous via Epic. Not quite sure what is going on yet.... but there is something amiss. When I tell it to over-write a ship design, it acts like it does, in the game for a bit. But sometime later I have 2 ships designs of the same name? When I check the design folder, sure enough, the old "replaced" design was never deleted. <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us
I got some crystal.event where I got to select "get 20 harmony crystals", and I was set for the whole game.
I know, right? Whenever I get that event, I always pick the "get 20 harmony crystals", no matter the consequences. [e digicons]:*[/e]
These are the ones (below), specifically, that I am fussing about. The things is that, there are so many like the following that they drown out the really useful traits and make them hard to find and locate. It would be helpful if their leader-trait-icons were depicted in a way that made them *less* distinct than the others - or - put a gold border around the *really* good leader traits (like +10% income bonus, etc...) Seem to be getting achievements via Steam....
Just discovered that I can obtain a Steam activation key and install / run via Steam in lieu of the Epic Launcher. Going to try that and see if I have any better luck with SuperNova achievements on that platfrom.
OK Devs, To assist you, I have ran the "TroubleShooting" feature via the Epic Launcher. No issues found, to include any connectivity issues: { "EndPointResults": [ { "Type": "Endpoint", "Result": "Passed",

I launch the game via the 'Epic' frontend. From what I understand, it has to do some kind of online Epic acount check, etc. However, it is still not registering any "Achievements". But I seem to remember that while playing I have periodically received achievement notifications - even as recent as last night. After checking, it is only failing to register "Achievements" when using the SuperNova Mod. hmmm.... <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/fo
Fair enough. However - "reported your initial post" ? - Report for what? Providing user feedback in the GalCiv IV Feedback forum? - Do you commonly report posts you do not want brought up? So, was the following settings discussed? These appear to be diplomatic penalties for using the "Get Off Your Lawn" request to leave your sectors. If this feature does no
I see. I expected they would have used other verified 'named' Solar System objects before inventing a name for the hypothetical Planet X. { i.e Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, Ceres, Sedna, Eris, Makemake, Orcus, Gonggong ... } But Artemis is just as good I suppose. ( actually sounds better than some of the more recent goofy names chosen by IAU. I admit, I am biased to
v2.6 may have addressed it. In a recent v2.6 game where I got 'The Nail' ship event, I did not encounter any issue when embark / debarking with 'The Nail'.
If the "Get Off My Lawn" feature is not really implemented, then it should not present players with the option to assert it. That just adds to the confusion. No borders huh? Didn't expect that. Really having a hard time getting my head around it. Missile ships that can fire 4 hexes, but no geo-political borders? I am trying to recall any syfy depiction of space fairing races where there were no geospace claims established. Nope, cannot think of any.&nbs
Interesting. Was not aware it has been named already. But its all good. ty
I am playing as I type this. How can I check to see if I am offline or not?
