re: hkarapuu They already do this. If you are downloading from SDC, you are getting 'development' patches. If you download the Standalone patchs, you are getting the 'stable' patches. Download patches off SDC at your own risk. re: solops Frogboy said what he did, in his post here...

I would be interested in how you would fair with Masochistic AI settings :)
Yes, +PQ event on PQ26 planets. Yummy! Add in all the games +PQ techs and you got some big planets. (The game was Gigantic/Fool as I was testing out some things...I dont know why I let it go on as long as I did lol)
Also, No Resources could mean your Military/Social/Research sliders are set in a way (say, 100/0/0 respectively) that you can only build ships, and not socials...
Buying techs ahead of your research abilities should not be an issue... (buying Dreadnought plans before you have frigates...or what have you) but actually producing Dreadnoughts should not be a possibility until you research/acquire the pre-requisites to Dreadnoughts...
Research Stellar Cartography and you will know where all the yellow stars are :)

They're free, Barry8. Free is good.
If GC is a bowl of spaghetti... well then in my book that's a good thing. Yummmmy.
Rock on, brother.
Monarchy (default) -> Republic -> Democracy -> Federation
"This is a feature that was in MOO1, fer chrissakes" Yes, and your point is? This is NOT moo4, this is NOT civ4, this is not anything but GalCiv. Plain and simple.
Perhaps the AI should not send in their war payments if you are not actually at war as promised?
Yeah, it's a pity that when that timer starts, there is *NOTHING* any civ can do to stop it, short of exterminating you or you giving up. You win, but still play for 12 turns. :P
What he said in the IRC channel was you have a chance at Finishing researching a tech before the time shown. For example, say you have '2 months' listed on the research screen, you hit end turn. BAM, research finished early. It doesnt happen every time, hence it's a 'random event' sort of bonus.
And if they voted to change back to Imperial, you have another vote as soon as you bump back up to Democracy...so probably just a waste of clicks... :notsure:
Class 26 is the highest a default planet can be, I thought?
Atleast they are in the same place, eh? Would be a whole 'nother story if Button A in one interface did what Button B does in another. ;p
1. dont know 2. doesnt seem like it to me, either...but I could easily be wrong 3. Yes there is a 'good' UI... check out Brads 5th (or maybe 4th) game playback, where he played a 'good' Terran.. and if you check your Domestic -> Stats screen, click on Society, it will tell you what your current alignment is and exactly what degree you are... (e.g. Neutral (50) << default)
MoO3 Insert (wish it had been sooner ;))
Yeah, applying the same thing Everquest did with their latest expansion back (which was, for the most part, only available through direct download) They made it so their patcher would download a fraction of the expansion every other day or so, a few weeks before they launched it. I thought it was rather effective... The only question is, could one download the Bonus Pack and not have the actual game installed... meaning is it an executable that we are downloading or does it directly pat
