Are there no responses because people don't know or did the post just go unnoticed?
there was probably no response because this is not a hot area of discussion amongst the players. People use them at different times, and for different reasons. An obvious time to do them is when you're getting toward the end of the game and you just want some extra prestige to put you over the top for victory.&n

The penalty does eventually go away, but yes, it's either a bug or an error the description. Personally, a 12-turn penalty for 500bc is pretty minor, generally speaking. So I'm suspecting that the duration got increased at some point but the description never got updated. -tid242

I don't believe that there is a way to get techapod specifically other than finding it on a planet and mining it (either on a core world, or via the Hydroponic tech for a colony world). Otherwise, you can buy it from the Bazaar, if it's available. Conversely there *might* be a starbase "rare resources" mission that can acquire it, but someone would have to confirm this for me - I'm not sure which random resources are actually generated from these missions.</p
Is there a stardock mission or something that can generate techapods? If so, can someone let me know the tech that does that?
You just need techapods to increase your mining output, is what you're asking?
Maybe you should have to have a Diplomat in order to activate access to additional info. That would add a reason to use Diplomats. I feel like I usually don't find myself managing "too many" fleets. However it does seem like there are much less logistics for later game than in prior GC's? Or at least I feel like that. So I feel like I go from fielding fleets of ships, to "fleets" that are only like 3 large ships + some extras. It definitely feels less "fleety" to me when there are <5 of whatever your main ship is in any fleet. My interim solution would just be to add +logistics wh
pretty sure it's intentional. this was done as a quick fix to stop the AI surveying bug before release. it should return to normal in a bit once they've nailed down that bug
Correct.
They had it and took it out. The way the AI evaluates trades, it wouldn't matter anyway. No matter how logical such a trade might be to a human, the AI would never accept it.
the AI's never really accepted these in GC2 or GC3 either. However, humans did use them to give away planets that were causing problems (especially ones in an AI's ZOC). With colonies these days, it makes more sense than eve

MP post 1.0 as stability is gained is something I want too for sure. For 1.0, Honestly I think a fix for the Anomaly bug is a "must have", otherwise there are just a handful of annoying bugs that require quit/reloads that need to be looked at. Like the minor civ missions breaking if you click on them twice - that type of thing. Ships occupying the same hex as things they're not supposed to be able to (like Anomalies) also comes to mind. It'd be nice if blocked tiles

Some interesting ideas here. One question though. What would incentivize you to be the first to build big ships then? ie what would be the advantage of committing to the research, then the industry to churn out bigger ships, when the smaller ships you can already build are better at fighting the existing smaller ships really? Or are you envisioning that you'd need ships with more "penetration" to push down starbases? Additionally, for the fleets of little guy

Not totally incorrect, however, ostensibly you could do the same thing in GC2 where the defenses were unlimited and completely flat. 20 ATT vs 60 DEF would've also gotten you nowhere - so for whatever reason that this didn't happen in GC2, I suppose I would argue it also wouldn't happen in GC4. hah. On a related note, one of the other asymmetries of ATT vs DEF is that there are 3 defenses, but you only need to specialize in one attack, so it's actually a pretty specialized ship

Could someone just talk generally about post-1.0 plans. People have been asking about when translations will happen (and in which languages), Multiplayer is due to go in at some point, Combat will be getting at least one overhaul, etc. Also I assume that many of these changes will get gamed out on the test-branches? Is there any other color on a post 1.0 roadmap? GC4 has turned out to be pretty great, heading into release. Congratulations to all involved..</p
I am surprised that there are only 3 persons playing MP games, who have bothered to post any issues. Let's have some more MP feedback from players, please.
Personally speaking, my interest in MP declined by about 99% with the removal of the AI's. We mostly want to play and beat up on the AI's, so our desire to playtest MP is just pretty low at the moment. Hopefully they will clean up MP some, and ro
Since we're on the subject, I think Durantium and Promethium should be fixed too. For these, it's the opposite problem. There's entirely too much of these resources on the map. It's easy to gather way more of these resources than one can actually use. I've had games where on the trade screen the AI had thousands of these resources. In the game I'm currently playing, I have resources set to "rare." That does seem to

For me, the planet floating UI's are too distracting, block my clicks, cover up tiles and are just generally in the way for me. I would get a "retro planet UI" setting in the game menu that changes them to GC3 style.
One issue for me was that the sectors were just more of the same. I think it might help if sectors further out had some new resources that were necessary to expand and maybe much harder enemies. Another idea would be to have a threat that is triggered by exploring too far -- wake the sleeping dragon sort of thing. Maybe a horde of Revenge ships that seek out your home world once you encounter them or something. Another issue is that the
