DavidK...oh I restrain yes ....read again what motion says...denial denial...*firmly lips together*
I actually don't know why I keep commenting on all this. It just sickens me to the bone. I will restrain myself from the message boards. The stance is so obvious. No further comments.
Jafo, there have been some threads around about ratings during my "participation" times. From those I have understood quite well that it is a long time discussed issue. I, for one, believe the person who writes: The rating system is EXTREMELY inconsistent. So, until the consistency improves, I have removed all of my skins. Bye... what more explanation do you want? Why search for other issues that caused this. It is stated open and frankly, it's the rating system. If you search for somethin
guys its not funny...I think adni can speak for himself. I hate this kind of misplaced funmaking
dunno anymore what the stance of WC is..I am totally confused when it comes to that. I know that at least you should ask permission to use others work, and it has to be stated in the description area.
But Migellito, not everybody is "skilled" enough to set a rate. I doubt even if a skilled one is able to either. I don't like Pollock (I believe you have written something about it in another thread). I think it's just throwing with blacks, but hey I understand it's art. Therefore I give Pollock a very low rating. The core is not the low ratings, the core is the display on WC. A low rating will filter the work. You as moderators might think of someone's others work as I think of Pollock. If you
Wow That's a bonus then yipeeeeeeeeeeeee
hey wiseoldman: when I subscribed it was for one year including premium skinsuites only available for subscribers.
oops: They raise the premium in order to be able to comply to their obligations...so the people are forced to pay for blundering strategies they didnt even ask for....just wanted to make that clear.
And this will be my last contribution to the subject of commercialzing WC. As a comparison...Here some pensionfunds got into trouble to keep enough liquidity because of the crash on the world stockmarket. Now what will they do? They raise the premium in order to be able to comply to their obligations. That's the said truth and it's obligatory too. To subscribe to WC is not, luckily enough. Fact is, it's a try to cut down costs. Whatever reasons anyone gives beside this argument, no one will conv
I was more thinking of A pitchblue background with pitchblue letters
My home is free to stay in, but I'll charge you the air that you breathe...Don't know why that popupped in my brain. Let's see...how many air can you breathe before I will quit you from breathing..hmmmm...I think...100 hours Let me get this straigh..I don't care whatever reasons are given for covering costs or developing a browser that solely works with WC. Or the skinsuites that are promised only for subsc
Now I am tempted to make one with the flying alphabet on it
Adni, I love your skins...only you know what was the original Am I glad I am so poor at what I do that I am not ripped, only my canvases are ripped <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powe
spindoctors please!
c242: I am not a spindoctor that tells me everytime a different reason, it's my opinion. There are skinners that get paid, in return they upload their creations (or is that not true). I don't get paid. I don't want to get paid either. And please stop the discussion it's not what this thread is about. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered b
I primarily bought it because I wanted to change my desktop the way I wanted it, namely with my own creations. There was an incentive to upload work to WC, but given the fact that it has been commercialized now, I won't upload any of my major works. I don't see why someone has to pay stardock for my work.
Besides, it's not my company. And whatever visitors like us suggest, it either is removed or put aside.
And there I agree with you WiseOldMan I have suggested in another thread to start letting a rating appear after a certain amount of rates...It was denied, and I don't bother anymore now.
Sometimes I do rate WiseOldMan Sometimes I just give comments...It is sad however to see someone go because of the rating system : <img src="http://images.stardock.com/images/smiles/sb.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absmiddle" ALT="Powered by SkinBrowser!
The thing is, you shouldn't take the ratings personal. Nobody has the wisdom to "rate" work as good or bad. Ratings here are more a sort of ranking popular works. Furthermore, everything that is approved to be in WC Databases should be displayed by default. While the admins might set their settings to display only the popular works. I have set mine to 1 so that I will see everything that's been submitted
Interesting comments about signing wallpapers..As a painter I always sign my canvas , however not as pompous as many other artists. Mine has some special features from which you can tell it's a real "Jacob". On the wallpapers I won't bother, most of the time I would place the title somewhere where it isn't noticed first hand. About programs that are able to render landscapes in no time: To me it would depend o
duh you are right werewolf...But there must be a few gif animator programs around that can convert gifs to png images...try to look at webattack.com or zdnet
