I'm not sure what has been proven here. I can tell that the Arceans did NOT have as many core worlds as the Cuddly Pandas because they occupied a microscopic part of the map and the distribution of good planets doesn't work like that, that I've seen. And I also guarantee that this game was not close, at all. The Arceans were stomped. I wanted to post about the AI strategy of colonizing class 1 planets early in the game but decided to reply here instead of making a
Seems like some of the 'chieves aren't working. I've definitely had a ship reach 5th level, and I've played for more than 100 hours, for example. Also "discover a nebula", "hyperspace", "complete a minor civ quest", "recruit a leader" and probably several more. I've been documenting these achievements that don't work since the base game went live on Epic, but so far none

Another achievement oddity: In the Steam interface, if I hover over my new 'chieve in my latest news area of Steam, it tells me one stat, and if I hover over it in the achievements section, it tells me a different stat. <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/70/12/7012500/3b049c6f-36ae-4d45-ac94-ad7401060b10.png" alt="" width="13

Here's a few more oddities for you guys: The "Energy Infuser" beam weapon vault item has no picture. Some Leaders have descriptions that don't fit on their card. That's fine but there's no option to scroll or anything either. The Stealth Field ship upgrade gives "Evasion +0.25" but I'm pretty sure this is the old evasion and not the renamed point defense evasion. Seems like some of the 'chieves aren't working. I've definitely had a sh

It got way funnier. Here's the link to the save https://drive.google.com/file/d/1H_s_3BYFWc5CSvr_3cX3m2DKatLAs9J_/view?usp=sharing Play for two or three turns and you'll get a random governor event. Trying this again, I got the "your governor is bad at handling crime" event, but I reloaded and then I got the best thing ever. That same event as above, except it was my fact

This is a new game, and I have one governor other than my civ leader, and I verified after this that they didn't get the loyalty adjustment. Also, why would giving a security detail to the people potentially targeted for assassination increase crime everywhere?

2 Replies 1,503 Views

How does that work, btw? Do you send your criminals to constructors and then Outland happens? (The Sean Connery movie, hur hur.) What happens if I put criminals on the Colony ships? I have literally no idea so I'm just randomly assigning people to those ships for the most part.
Also: We need more types of interesting treaties.
Maybe a resupply treaty, where we can use the other civ's starbases to extend our ships' range? I see guys asking me to declare war on the civ that's beating up on them, and I'm like, if I do, what would I do then? They're on the other side of the galaxy from me! It's tough to extend my reach into those other sectors sometimes.

These are just some things I've noticed while playing 1.6. The first battle after loading up the game autoplays, but to change the view you have to click play to make it switch. My ships often overlap and then split up later in the battle, or start out very close together and slowly start to collide. This is for frigates and larger ships, fighters seem fine. It's way too easy to accidentally destroy a planetary improvement. Also the "destroy improvement" ba

I remember in GC2 getting a message that said something like, "The civilizations in the galaxy are pursuing many different strategies. The Thalan, for example, are pursuing a peaceful strategy and are researching TERROR STAR LIVING QUARTERS (or whatever)". I though it was funny. I never actually saw any AI faction complete one of these things though.

Moderator: Colonel_Panic2465, the comment you were responding to was spam. I have removed it and edited your reply to reflect that. It's just the default resolution of my monitor, man. But I'll elaborate a bit here: the citizen portrait has 4 quadrants. The upper left is the citizen job icon. The lower right is the citizen happiness icon. The upper right empty and you can hover here and get the citizen's stats. The low

These two citizens have the pacifist trait but one is using I think the Benevolent trait icon? I also want to mention -- it's really hard to find the tiny right area to hover my mouse to get these stats for my boarding screen citizens.

2 Replies 12,571 Views

I see this also occasionally in the citizen boarding area when I mouse over to see a citizen's stats, or when I mouse over an enemy fleet to see the predicted battle outcome. The text is in the incorrect location -- in the case of the battle prediction, it's at the TOP and overwriting part of the window.

I get these "components" also, and when I hover over them to see what they are, it'll just say "component". But then when I hover over real parts, their tooltip descriptions have become mushed-together gibberish until I reload. So don't mouse over a component or else you won't be able to read what the other parts do, in other words.

Something else I noticed in 1.6: if you rush an improvement on a planet, the tooltip will say "rush [whatever is first in the queue]" regardless of what you're actually rushing. It will really rush build the thing you select, not the first queue item though. If that makes sense. Also, I don't think the Kinetic Weapon artifact in works. I apply it to a ship and it just disappears without adding anything or doing the sparkly artifact activation effect.

I noticed a leader suddenly acquire the "bad with money" trait when I recruited him. I hadn't seen them change before. When you're done researching a tech and have to choose a new one, if you go to tech navigator, it's all 0s for all the techs until you exit the research screen and reenter it. If you don't have enough trade licenses and command a freighter to go to another civ's planet, the freighter will just forget his orders at the start of the next turn. I didn

I didn't realize I could just start the 1.6 version but now I'm playing the crap out of it and I'll keep you posted. So far I have not seen any bugs. :) Edit: as soon as I post this I noticed the damage issue is still here. My ship repaired itself fully before the next battle but is on fire with a half-full health bar. Just FYI

11 Replies 13,414 Views

Is that why in previous games, when I'm on a knife's edge diplomatically and then save and quit, when I reload war is instantly declared? Finally an explanation after all these years

Can I add my bug list/ notes here? I have screenshots for all of these 1) beam volley tooltip sometimes says missile volley and vice versa 2) I don't know what triggered it, but I now have a mysterious "component" in my support tab in the ship designer, and if I mouse over it, it has no description. However doing that causes most other components to have their tool tips turn to gibberish until I restart the game. 3) My ships' health bars show that they are
