I have a hard time with this. Adding a ship to a siege shouldn't cancel the siege. The siege would have to be recalculated but that's not a reason to start it over again. There's no logical reason at all why this should happen except expediency.

Interesting thanks. I don't have any problem with that, just with the ship stats *in the game* not showing the actual value. It's funny that they get double their sensor range vs colony ships, if I'm reading that right. In any event, "sensor range 2" is just the game lying to us.
It's just a little odd how they have a sensor range of 2 and shot my transport using the range 4 missile volley. Or how they zero in on my transport from a good ways away on the map, This is "genius" level so maybe the gloves are off for the AI at that level. Oh and I have invisible citizens on my planets and it's weird. Yep I'm playing the game again lol.
I do usually take the money. Wow interesting! Ok but I still remotely surveyed an anomaly, because I had already moved and started a survey before clicking that button. So that warp thing should probably be set to break any anomaly research if it's underway.
I thought I had a save but I can't locate it . . . :( But I have a question: are there wormholes in GC4? It seemed like a regular anomaly with two or three options of how to interact with it.
AI used a wormhole generator on you. It's not a bug. That or you had an event that teleported you. I'm not sure if those exist anymore but in GC3 it happened often.
Oh really. This was extremely early in the game, and I hadn't met an AI opponent yet. Also, surely the AI uses their artifacts *on their turn*. This was in the middle of my turn. It was not a wormhole. Same when other ships
I'm almost 100% sure this is a bug. It's certain that neither of those things happened, anyway. Also, my survey ship did finish remotely, as it were, surveying that anomaly before I had to direct it back to friendly space.
Anyone else see ships occasionally teleport to random, distant parts of the sector? My survey ship suddenly teleported to outside its travel range, but it still says it's surveying . . . huh? This also happens to regular ships sometimes. It's a rare bug but I've see it happen a few times. To be clear, my survey ship finished with an anomaly and I moved it onto the next one. Then I clicked the ! and made my anomaly choice. Then my ship was suddenly far fro
I apologize, I just remembered: the pirates DID blow up the probe I started out with also, Theia or whatever.
RammaStardock: roger that! Housing +1, yeah I noticed that too and thought, "Well ok! :)" Now I'm thinking, "housing near starports . . . "
May I ask if these are probes you designed or default probes?
Probes I designed. Before I had a ship style set, I made a probe that looked different, and this is still the one I use at the start of new games. It has identical parts as the default, it's just cosmetically different. Later in the game I have upgraded sensor probes. I hope you're not saying that unarmed probes with the probe module have to be designed by the computer. Als
"Pirates start with more tech. They are quite a bit nastier now (move faster, build better ships)." Pirates apparently blow up probes now :( Update: I'm kinda hating this. I assume this is not by design?
Uh . . . lol AI sends fewer warnings to the player. AI sends fewer warnings to the player.
Hey, you guys fixed the rando-ship hull issue. Now the hulls are selected from my shipset, which is great. Now for my remaining nitpicks: not sure if the parts window is scrollable yet, I'm not far enough in the game to verify. If that hasn't been looked at, please take a glance. Also, you CAN still put a constructor module on a constructor (or trade module on a freighter, etc) -- which sounds fine until you remember that they come with this part now, although it's inv
This has happened a couple of times, where a civ's relations with me are cordial or better (in my current game, warm) and then they declare war on me without warning. It used to be that I could feel pretty sure about something like this, now the game feels really random.
It sounds like the initial problem was that the red hardpoint markers weren't visible for OP. I thought at first he had the issue that I did, but even though my issue is different, I felt like it was similar enough to mention. This issue takes place outside of "cosmetic mode", where you place weapons and functional parts. That's where a) sometimes it stops letting me put parts on until I do the workaround I mentioned above and b ) there's a very limited non-scrollable wind
The ship designer is generally broken and I hate it, but I wanted to mention: I get an issue where I can no longer put parts on hardpoints. But I found that if I double click a part (to just add it wherever the game wants to put it) and then remove it, I can then add parts manually again. This works until I have too many parts and the designer doesn't let me see the newest ones because it's terrible.
Fast exploration trades HP for speed for every ship in your civ. Changing it out for a different policy has historically brought all the ships back up to full HP on the next turn. Currently (1.96), swapping out the policy just raises the max HP of all the ships to normal, but keeps them at their previous lower actual HP. In other words, every ship in the civ is suddenly on fire, and has to slowly repair. :(
Thanks for the replies. I'm curious when this was a thing (background picture button) since I've been playing since May, or about 1.5, and it's never existed in that time. It's also odd that nobody has noticed this, it seems like? I'm sure many of us are making custom civs. Oh well.
I might be missing something but for the life of me I can't figure out how to change my civ leader background. Is this possible to do? I've had to re-enter the civ builder to get a new random background if I want something else, and I definitely have not been able to put my own custom background in except by just putting the leader portrait on top of a pic, which I guess works. It just seems odd that this isn't configurable. Thanks
This seems odd? Two different versions of coin clipping for these leaders' biographies, and also a coin flipping badge? And both on one person! People be loving alien coins.
This has been a mechanic since at least GC2. If you click pass, that ship is done for that turn. So this isn't a bug, but a feature request basically, to get all jargon-y.
Did you start a new game? If not some "fixes" do not take effect till you do.
. . . Yes.
"Fixed tiny health bars in the battle viewer. " Unfortunately, this is not fixed. I never saw this issue before now because I took a break from the game for a bit. My initial battles in 1.89 looked fine (except for all my ships being on fire and the health bars showing about 1/3 despite never having been in combat before). Then I sent another ship into battle and it had a teensy tiny health bar. Just FYI. Quick edit: One other battle viewer thing: the init
This is still an issue in 1.89.
