The 1.79 insider's changelog post is 13 hours old. The 1.8 insider's post is 3 hours old. This post is now almost 1 hour old. Did you get feedback from 1.79 and 1.8 that allowed you to decide that 1.8 should be generally released? How does that work? Edit: sorry, 24 hours total between the changelog updates.

A couple things I noticed when I started up a new game: first, when I went to create a new constructor, say, it seemed to grab a cargo hull from a totally random ship set (and in fact, when I reload, it grabs a different ship set cargo hull than before). Why didn't it grab my ship set constructor? Also, when looking at the crazy list of all the ships from all time, if you scroll down, the ships just disappear at a certain point. None of your new custom ones are visible.&nb

I do appreciate the effort it takes to make this game and how annoying uninformed bad reviews are. But given the fact that the game is early access whether you're playing insiders builds or the general release version on steam, the most appropriate and sensible thing to do (especially if one goal is to head off bad reviews) is to put this text in the main menu of ALL builds, including the general ones, and to drop it during gameplay. I can't comprehend the purpose of keeping this

Thanks for taking a look, but I think you misunderstand the issue. This is after you save, and then reload. It 100% does not work. None of them do. You can swap them out, and then exit the policy screen, then go back and swap them back in and they start working again, though.

Re: anomalies, this is definitely a thing. If two or more survey ships complete their surveys on the same turn, none of the anomalies are get-able. The completed event notices appear in the upper left, and when you click on them they take you to your ship, but there's no red exclamation mark, and you finish your turn and still nothing. This is I guess now my 1.65 bug thread because I have a leader who says she's "cheap, lower recruit cost" when clearly the opposite is the

I've confirmed this with some more policies. Space Dock Stimulus (I think that's what it's called), Research Grants, and Heart of the Empire. Another strange one that I'm having a hard time replicating, but I definitely am not getting all of my anomalies. The red exclamation mark doesn't appear and so I can end my turn without getting the anomaly popup, and I get no benefit from the anomaly at all if I do that. I reloaded a game where that happened, and the survey ev

Just FYI, it appears that all policies cease to work after reloading the game. Admittedly I've only tested this with two so far but it definitely is at least the case with The Great Expansion and Fast Exploration. Fast exploration in particular was bizarre because when I loaded up my game, all of my ships showed the standard (no policy) max ship HP but they all still had 1/2 actual current HP, and so every one of my ships was literally on fire. Also no ship had the speed bon

Yay thank you! I appreciate the work you guys are doing. :) Now for my tedious complaints . . . "Removed exploit whereby players can temporarily take out their civ capital and build a Supply Depot and Colonial Generator." -- that's is not the case, unfortunately. I can still do this. I love the new leader events but they don't seem to be connected in any way to their mini-bio? I thought that was the point. The zoom settings are interesting

Thanks for replying. I replayed those turns and yep, war occurs without any declaration. This is a map with nothing but custom civs, some AlientGPT and some my own, and when . . . wait for it . . . the Moties wipe out the Borg (sounds legit), then I'm suddenly at war with the Moties without anything except "The Borg have been destroyed" and my reply, "Understood" popup. Here's the save game. The Borg get blowd up in April 2324, so a few turns after this. I can

It's so unhelpful IMO. Also, not sure if this has happened to anyone else, but I discovered after not checking diplomacy for a few turns, that I was at war with someone. It was news to me! I have no clue when it happened or what caused it.
in OPTIONS we want to add a button called “Enable Freeform Design” which would unhide a button
Why does it need to be hidden? New players and people coming from Stellaris might not even know that this is an option. I worry that then a year from now, it'll be determined that hardly anyone uses this feature and in GC5 it'll be eliminated. Decisions like this make my heart drop into my stomach :( :(
Probes are also ignored by mo

This issue appears to be more than just survey modules disappearing. I used the mineral scanner artifact on a planet to increase it from 1 to 3 minerals and it's back to 1 now. I used the pollution filter to reduce a planet's pollution by 10% and it's back to where it was also, with nothing in the modifiers about any artifact being used.

A couple more things: The battle prediction not populating thing does not appear to be a time or processing issue. It just doesn't appear sometimes no matter how long you wait. Usually, but not always, looking at a different battle calculation, then coming back, fixes it. FWIW, I've never seen the calculation take even a second to appear. If it's not instantaneous, no amount of time (that I've waited for, which is a few minutes) will bring it up. The ba

Combat Rating has been a huge help simplifying comparisons between fleets. But I wonder if it's over-valuing my survey ship here. Here's the match-up. In one corner: My ship, Combat Rating 8 Beam 3 Missile 4 Shield 1 Evasion 1 Armor 1 Hit Points 63 (64 -1 point of current damage) In the other corner: Pirate "Paladin", Combat Rating 7 Beam 8 Missile 2 Kinetic 2 Armor 10 Hit Points 38 This g

I see you just now read the first three sentences of my first post here. Thanks for backfilling after skimming far ahead. Doesn't look like the sector is bigger than all the rest combined, looking at the stars in particular, but whatever.

One other thing I'd like to emphasize: it seems to me that the personality of the AI is irrelevant for this discussion. What I outlined above is true (or false if I've stated it incorrectly) regardless of whether the AI is expansionist or not. The AI civ WILL need core worlds and it WILL need colonies and so prioritizing them properly seems important in all circumstances.

Thank you for finally replying with something, but I feel like you're still not reading my posts. Please point to where I said class 1-3 planets are worthless? And shouldn't be colonized? Or that I'm not colonizing them? Also, I feel like you are willfully misunderstanding what I am saying and why this thread exists. For the first, I'm saying that these lower class planets should not be prioritized in the early game, and for the second, that the AI is not
Hello Colonel, Thanks for your reply. However, you are thinking of Class 1s in the terms of earlier GalCiv games. In GalCiv 4 the Class 1s feed into the core worlds. They can easily outweigh another Core World depending on where they are located. In GalCiv 3 you may have not colonized Mars. In GalCiv 4 you'll generally colonize it and Artemis within the first 2 turns. By the end of the game you'll likely only have
