I just started another game and, to my surprise, I was able to build a custom ship that I had designed in a previous game on turn 1! The following screen snapshot shows that I am on turn 1 (upper right-hand corner) and that a ship named "Praxis, Custom 8" was available for me to build. I hovered over that ship design so that you can also see the capabilities of that ship. What is going on? This doesn't seem right. <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/64

I know this subject has been raised many times before, but in the interest of trying to convince the powers that be to address this sooner rather than later, I am showing another example of the TERRIBLE logic that is currently in place for determining the outcome of battles. Below is a screen snapshot of a battle report for a battle between my ship (on the left) and a pirate fleet of 3 ships which have no defences and 2 beam attack each (on the right). My ship has a beam attack

This is a problem that they have been aware of for a long time. I have sent them game saves where the they can see the problem happen when they go to the next turn. I do not understand why they have not chosen to prioritize this problem given how it frustrates players when it happens. I have had it happen to me twice just this week alone. What I recommend is to hit the "Esc" key to bring up a menu, choose the "Options" button, then go to the "Gameplay" tab (screen sn

You need to get the description of the missile attack range in synch with what the actual range is. The first screen snapshot shows: The text description of the range of my missiles ("up to 3 tiles away") My fleet, which is 3 cells away from an enemy shipyard The second screen snapshot shows that the game thinks that the shipyard is out of range, even though it is 3 cells away. You can also see the line of the range circle cutting down thro

In the Factions screen, one of the factions that I have is the Warforged faction. As shown in the first screen snapshot below, adding leaders to this faction will increase my civilization's Military, based on the leader's Resolve, and Crime, based on the leader's Social. You can also see that, based on the characteristics of the 2 leaders that I have already added to the Warforged faction, my Military is increased by 12% and my Crime is increased by 2%. Here is the issue:<

After a battle, sometimes ships get a little green uparrow next to them as shown in the first screen snapshot below. I believe that this means that the ship has acquired enough experience for an upgrade. However, not all ships can actually get an upgrade. When I close the screen shown in the first screen snapshot and select the fleet that had engaged in the battle, only one of the ships can be upgraded as shown in the second screen snapshot below. What determ

The following screen snapshot shows the popup that appears when you hover over the "Carrier Module" item in the ship builder. It says both: "Carries 6 Fast and deadly Fighters", and "Interceptor Fighters Cap 4 " So do you actually get 6 fighters or just 4? Also, you may want to correct the capitalization in the first line above. <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/64/79/6479257/e6f607a8-2167

Below is a link to a saved game in DropBox that should allow you to replicate a freeze on the turn of "Unknown Civilization 15". https://www.dropbox.com/s/l9ws0sw2sqk5h9c/FreezeOnCiv15.GC4Sav?dl=0 If you load the saved game and click on the icon to go to the next turn, a window should pop-up for a successful treasure hunt, Then, when you close that, you should see the game show the other ci

This is something that I believe I have reported before, but it is REALLY annoying me in my current game so I am creating another thread for it. One of the tactics that I like to use is to surround a Subspace Gate with fleets of ships, as shown in the first screen snapshot below. This usually results in a stack of ships and fleets piled-up on the Subspace Gate. The second screen snapshot shows an example where there are 47 (yes 47!) ships and fleets stacked-up on the Subsp

The first screen snapshot below shows a fleet of 2 Krynn Syndicate ships sitting on a Ship Graveyard with my fleet of 4 ships nearby. The second screen snapshot shows what happens when I try to attack the Krynn Syndicate fleet. Is it intended behavior to allow AI fleets to use Ship Graveyards as protection from attack or is this a bug that needs to be fixed? Or is there some method I am unaware of that will allow me to attack the Krynn Syndicate fleet while it sits on a ship

After clicking around a bit, I think I have discovered something that predicts the behavior of how many icons appear. The "Rock Carrier M4" ship has 7 components. When you click on it and then on "Huge Beast", the "Huge Beast" design shows 7 components. If you click on the "Mountain M0" ship design (down 3 in the list) it has 15 components. If you now click back on "Huge Beast", the "Huge Beast" design shows now 15 components. In fact, the number of compone

I am running test version 1.05.351507. A game save that should allow you to see this issue is available here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/tfr0z2z285k9kn8/ShipyardBugDemo.GC4Sav?dl=0 I have run across a bug in the ship designer. I have seen it a few times in different games primarily with huge ships. The bug is that, when you try to modify an existing ship design, the current com

I do not remember if this has been posted before so, if it has, please ignore. After surveying an object, the screen shown in the first screen snapshot below appeared. Note that the third button says that I have a 95% chance to recover an Environmental Shield. Later that turn, a screen appears telling me that I recovered an Environmental Shield (see the second screen snapshot below). A couple of turns later one of my ships earned an upgrade, but there was no Envi
I believe it was stated doing development that this event gives at least a class 5 planet.
That's fine, but the point is that, when the player is required to make a decision, the text presented to the player should accurately describe what each option does. When the text says that you will get a class 5 planet, but in reality you will get a planet that is at least a class 5, I believe that y

I have seen this in every game I play, but this is the first time I have remembered to get a screen snapshot before clicking on the button in question. The first screen snapshot shows the window that appears and, when I hover over the first button, it shows a popup that says I will gain a class 5 planet. The second screen snapshot shows that the planet that I received is actually a rather nice class 8 planet. Please ask the devs to fix the text of the popup for the fir

From the Diplomacy screen I can see that I have met 14 AI civilizations (see first screen snapshot below). However, when I go into the Data Bank screen and click on the Timeline option, I can only see myself (Gemini) plus 9 AI civilizations for a total of 10 (9 visible at a time plus scroll down to see the 10th) as shown in the second and third screen snapshots below. The Yor, Arceans, Manti, Krynn, and Drath do not appear in the Timeline. Why not? <img src="https:

I am fairly early in a new game (month 65) using the most recent test version of 1.05. I clicked on the icon to go to the next month and my screen went black. I could still move the cursor around and I could still hear the music playing so I know the game was still running, but the screen was black and I could not do anything. The Esc key dinged the first time I pressed it, but no menu appeared and repeatedly pressing it did not do anything. I had to go to the operating syst
Ah. That's a good point. Hadn't thought of the angle. Although one could then make the argument that a few of the other planetary improvements should be destroyed as well. Like a few of those 15 Research buildings......... If I remember correctly from previous posts, this is not considered a bug. The explanation was that when you attacked, the capitol was destroyed. I do not remember why you could not build a new capitol.

I have come across a situation where 2 fleets from different AI civilizations are stacked in a cell. I am at war with one of those civilizations and not the other. I want to attack, but the game only lets me attack the fleet of the civilization that I am NOT at war with. I cannot figure-out a way to attack the fleet I am at war with. I can attack with missiles and the game seems to know that the missiles are intended for the fleet with which I am at war, but the game g

One more thought about the wording of the popups. Does the cost or benefit apply to: One colony or all colonies One Core World or all Core Worlds One Leader or all Leaders One ship or all ships One ship in a fleet or all ships in a fleet If it just applies to one, is it clear which one.

Not only do many of the popups lack the contextual information to make an informed decision, but some of the popups make no sense at all. For example, the screen snapshot below shows the description of the Colonial Supplies Executive Order. It says that it will cost 30 Control and the decay of each of our colonies will increase by 50% which I believe means that if a colony currently has a decay rate of 30% it will become 45%. But what do we get in exchange for this? Th
There's also just a general lack of information on what values things have, sometimes I wish there was a 'what would it take for you to do X'
I agree. My suggestion would be to allow the player to select 1 or more items from the other civilization then push a button to ask the other player what they would want in exchange. The AI would need to make an offer that they believe is fair or just say that they do n

I just met another civilization (Baratak Grove), chose to trade with them, and this time the research cost for my items appeared as expected, but I could not select a technology the Baratak Grove owned to trade for. After I gave up and clicked "Done", a screen appeared with some options (see first screen snapshot below). I chose the option to trade and now I could select a technology the Baratak Grove owned to trade for. <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/64/79/647
