I was creating a new custom civilization in the new 1.55.376894.1 version and, as I was looking through the set of Commander Ships, I noticed that many of them have very high mass numbers. The screen snapshot below shows just one of them, but if you look through the sets of ships you will find many like this.

I understand that, under Godlike, the AI civilizations get a large advantage, but this much? The screen snapshot on the left is of an AI fighter. The screen snapshot on the right is for one of my fighters. Note that the hit points of the AI fighter is more than double that of my fighter. There are 2 reasons for this: AI Difficulty +200% seems a bit extreme, but I can understand that Hull Reinforcing +25 Wha
Here is another screen snapshot from later in the game. I would not think that their military power should go up and down so precipitously.
There are also various anomalies that will give you a survey module.
While that used to be true, I have not found an anomaly under 1.55.376713.1 that gives a survey ship or a constructor. They may be still out there, but I have not found one. In previous versions I found a lot of them.
Hey, thank you for this detailed description! How long do ai turns take, when they do NOT stuck?
Each of the AI's normally take 1 - 5 seconds. When they get stuck, I wait minutes. I check my e-mail, check the news, hit the head, etc. Eventually, I am convinced that the game is stuck and not just taking a long time.
I do not know whether you think you have solved the stuck turn issue in version 1.55.376713.1, but just in case you think you did, you did not. My current game has gotten stuck twice on the Arcean's turn and once on the Krynn's turn. I would provide a save file, but every time the game gets stuck I have to exit the game, restart the game, and load the game from the most recent save. When I do, the game does not get stuck again until some unpredictable number of turns later,
I just had another battle where the exact same thing happened: kinetic weapons fired in phases 7, 8, and 9, then did not fire again until phase 21. the only attack my fleet performed in phases 10 - 21 was a missle attack in phase 12. Is there some kind of feature the Arceans have or could add to a ship that would disable enemy kinetic weapons for 12 phases? I am not aware of one, but I know you are tinkering with weapons, defenses, and battles.</
I ran into an interesting issue with the scrolling log on the left-hand side of the screen. The first screen snapshot (on the left) shows what it looked like where the scrolling log window was much smaller than usual, only showing 2 entries. I created a save file to send to you, but when I loaded it to make sure you would be able to replicate the issue, the window was larger as shown in the second screen snapshot below (on the right). After I exited the game, restarted the g
When you look at the screen snapshot below of the military power of all of the civilizations, it appears that the military power of the Drath almost tripled in one turn. How does this happen? I am over 100 turns into the game so this can't be due to getting one powerful Command ship.
You can zoom in and they will spread out. If you are zoomed to that level because you want icons instead of graphics set icon zoom to zero and you will never see the graphics again. But that is one hell-of-a lot planets.
With all due respect gypsy2299, that is not icon mode. This is icon mode: <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/64/79/6479257/a547693f-2a63-45bc-a1ab-0ae38cff853e.
I have encountered an issue with how battles are working vs. how I think they are supposed to work. The first screen snapshot below shows the Combat Rating information for my fleet. Specifically, note that it has 39.6 kinetic attack which should mean that, once in range, my kinetic weapons should be attacking every battle phase since the cooldown for Railguns is 1 as shown in the second screen snapshot. However, that does not appear to be happening. My fleet consists o
I also noticed this new planet is the start system to the right of my home world: Is the new planet hard to see? This is another problem with the current method of displaying planet labels. Currently, if you move your cursor directly over any part of a planet label, the planet label disappears, allowing you to see what is under the label. However, when you hav
I am not sure when this new planet showed-up, but I just noticed it. It is one star system down from my home world.
The following screen snapshot shows the description for the Zalon Defense System. I do not think that "Reduces the defense" is an adequate description. Which defenses? By how much? A fixed amount or a percentage? If a player is going to spend 3 resources and take up 12 mass on a ship they should get more information than a vague "Reduces the defense". <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/64/79/6479257/3ba40528-49a2-415e-aa46-999ea53b23ac.png" alt=""
+1 Durantium doesn't seem appropriate for the artifact depicted here.
I agree. I recommend that the value of the rewards increase as follows: Capsules have the least valuable reward (not defended) - resources Ship Graveyards are next (defended) - ship upgrades Artifacts are next (their description says they give valuable rewards) - should be artifacts that go into the Artifact st
Below is a screen snapshot of my home system and the only planets that I can see are the 3 I started with.
I am playing as the Yor and I noticed something that I do not understand while I was looking at the factors that contribute to the Happiness of a citizen (see screen snapshot below). One of the factors that reduced happiness was called "This planet is full of life". In previous versions, this only occurred if there were non-Yor citizens on the planet, but you can see that all of the citizens are Yor. What is the "life" that the planet is full of? Or is this a bug and t
There are 2 types of ships named "Packet". The first screen snapshot shows the description of the first one and the second screen snapshot shows the description of the second one. Another issue here is that the second "Packet" ship is a Cruiser Hull size ship, but I have not researched that yet. Why is it available? Because I researched Siege Class ships?
Perhaps if the message gave the name of the new planet it would be easier to find it and verify that it exists.
The screen snapshot below shows the reward for researching an Artifact. I believe a word is missing between the words "valuable" and "relatively". I believe the missing word should be "world" or "planet", but I will leave that up to your English major that is working on cleaning-up spelling and grammar issues. Also, this is the second Artifact I have researched that says that there should be a new and valuable planet, but to my old eyes, no new and valuable planet has appe
The first screen snapshot shows what my citizen display looks like. Notice that it says that I have 5 citizens out of a maximum allowed of 9, but only one citizen is displayed. However, if I hover my cursor over the black areas where the other 4 citizens should be, the popup shows the missing citizens as shown in the second screen snapshot below. I believe the problem occurs when you open the planet management screen for a planet that has a small number of citizens (in thi
In the following screen snapshot, I believe "has" should be "have". It is a minor thing, but attention to detail is important.
The first screen snapshot below shows a window that came up from colonizing a planet. The hover popup says "Egalitarianism Cultural Awareness increases to 3" and it also says "+1 Opportunity Trait Discount". The phrase "Cultural Awareness" was a different color, so I held down the Shift key to lock the popup in place (thank you for that!) and hovered over that phrase to get the popup that is shown in the second screen snapshot below. I understand that the names of all of t
Referencing the screen snapshot above, they both gave +1 Durantium although the story for each was different.
It is by design not sure what they mean as that has not been explained. There are at least two different types of rewards from artifacts one gives bonuses to your Civ the other supplies artifacts for later use.
OK. I will try to keep track of the types of rewards granted by each icon.
