I had the IT team change robots.txt of the stardock forums so that I can use chatgpt to do analysis of Paul’s posts.
That might lead to some circular logic. After all, what do you think I use to write my posts? [e digicons]|-)[/e]

I am engaged in a rousing battle with the Arceans. As shown in the screen snapshot below, I was trying to use a missle attack agains the Arcean fleet of 57 ships when I got the message "Cannot be engaged in battle". Given that I was not trying to marry them, I am assuming that the message means that I cannot attack them. Why not? Is it because the game thinks that I am trying to attack the exclamation point icon instead of the fleet that is underneath it? Here

This is somewhat complicated, but I will try to explain what is happening as clearly as possible. In the first screen snapshot below, I have just conquered Misam V which owned the shipyard that is visible 2 cells down and to the left. When I conquered Misam V, the shipyard had some ships based in it which got ejected because the shipyard is now mine. Here is the problem: the ships that were ejected from the shipyard got placed in the cell just to the right of the shipyard,

One of the tedious parts of the late game is having to perform the same task over and over again on a set of fleets. For example, if you look at the screen snapshot below, I have setup a blockade on a Subspace Gate. On each turn, I am going to go to each one of my fleets and use a missile attack on the enemy ships/fleets that are sitting on the Subspace Gate. Then, if I have killed all of the enemy ships on the Subspace Gate, I am going to go through each of my fleet

Illauna, Thank you for taking the time to look at the save file. The reason I provided it was to let the devs get a look at how a game played-out by a non-dev. If you are happy with how the AI civ performed that is a good thing for you to know. If you saw some things that you think could be improved, that is good as well. Either way, I just wanted to give you some data to work with.
Thank you for sharing Paul, I've read from someone else that the general benefits of factions arent working but that report seems isolated, have you noticed anything else with the factions system?
It is hard to tell because I cannot follow the calculations. Here is one example: the first screen snapshot below is from the shipyard attached to Gamma Theta II. Notice that, while it accur

I played another Godlike duel, this time against the Arceans. Once again the Arceans never left their home sector allowing me to build a strong military and eventually win. I played as a custom civilization as shown in the first screen snapshot below. The game settings are shown in the second screen snapshot below. The universe that was created is shown in the third screen snapshot below with the Arceans starting (and never leaving) the far right sector. I starte

The Censorship Trait under the Totalitarianism ideology says that "Factions have no negative side effects" (first screen snapshot below) but, while it appears to work for 3 out of my 4 factions, it does not appear to work for the Endless Emporium faction (second screen snapshot below). This may be related to the issue that I previously reported where the description of the Endless Emporium says that the second effect increases income, but the actual effect shows in increase in cri

Here is another annoyance with the Leaders screen: The traits of the leaders sometimes change after you select one. The first screen snapshot shows the leaders before I select one. Note that Erik Herndez has the Peacemaker trait. The second screen snapshot shows that, after selecting Leo Tyddui, Erik Herndez's trait has changed to Infamous. I would not expect a leader's trait to change just because I selected another leader. Also note that the Infamous

This issue has been around for a while, but I finally got annoyed enough to post about it. When you go into the Leaders screen the available leaders are displayed in a starting order (first screen snapshot below). However, when you select one (in this case I selected Jonny Pederz) the remaining leaders change the order in which they appear (second screen snapshot below). This is extremely annoying when, as in this case, I wanted to select the first 2 leaders, but I had to stop a

I just completed a game (first screen snapshot below) and I thought I would give a few observations. First, here was the setup: My only opponent was the Krynn Syndicate on Godlike. The settings for the game are shown in the second screen snapshot below. My observations: The Krynn Syndicate did not expand very far beyond their home sector. This allowed me to expand uncontested until I encountered them. The Krynn built larg

The text tag did not get replaced with my custom civilization's leader's name. In the previous game that I just finished, when I got this Situation Report the tag had been replaced with my custom civilization's leader's name.

I reported this issue under previous versions. I am reporting again to get it back on the top of the pile. The "Unlocks" section is displayed over the top of the Battle Cruiser Doctrine description.

Another update: After a few more turns, the game froze again when the Krynn attempted to invade Persson IV. There must be something about Persson IV that is causing the freeze. At this point the game is unplayable so I am going to start a new game.

Update: I have found that you do not have to assign a leader to Persson IV before double-clicking on it. If you just go to Persson IV and double-click on it the game will freeze. I also tried double-clicking on some of my other core worlds and the planet management screen opens as expected. I also tried moving some of my fleets and they moved as expected. However, as soon as I double-clicked on Persson IV the game froze.

I ran into a situation where the game freezes in a predictable, repeatable way.
I've seen this from other crime reducing techniques also. Your world Zhang II is a core world, which means that its crime rate is increased by crime on all of the colonies feeding it. Typically, the crime rate on colonies is less than 10%, so deploying the orbital prison would reduce the crime rate on all of the colonies whose crime rate is 10% or less to 0. That means your core world crime drops dramatically. Could that explain what hap

The Orbital Prison planetary improvement says that it will reduce crime by 10% (first screen snapshot below). It does not say whether it will only reduce crime on the planet on which the improvement is placed or whether it will affect all of my planets, but that is an issue for another time. The issue I am bringing up is that the Orbital Prison improvement, when placed on any planet will eliminate all crime from all of my planets. The second screen snapshot below shows my

I just finished a game where I only played against the Corporate Sector on Godlike setting. I lost on turn 46 via Prestige Victory and I hadn't even met them yet! I know that I had complained about the Prestige calculation before and I know that you have tweaked the calculation, but you may want to take another look at how Prestige is calculated. No civilization, even under Godlike setting, should be able to win a Prestige victory in 46 turns without even meeting their oppon
