I've given them away as gifts. I figured since they are such prized possessions that the civ would have everlasting gratitude. Instead they surrendered to someone else (even after lot of help from me) when a war they were in went bad. It was kind of stupid. They were the Altarians I was the Terrans; the Krynn were wiping them out and they surrender to the Yor? Talk about divergent cultures. It didn't really make sense...so no more planet gifting until it's fixed.

I'm really liking everything about DA but since you asked... 1. The addition of asteriods was cool. I'd like to see more "space terrain" such as nebulas (which could effect ship movement or defense). Maybe throw in a couple black holes or supernovas that make some sectors or parts of sectors impassable (like the mountain ranges of Civilization). 2. I know the idea of "borders" is consistently shot down, how about adding a diplomatic option for creating "neutral zones". Areas

Shushu- The question is definitely a "koan" (good word by the way, I had to look that one up ). It can't be answered but I don't think that means it should be dismissed. As far the use of logic to defend God; if you believe God endowed us with logic it would only make sense that he intended us to use it.

Quixen- To further add to the question "where did the pinhole of light come from that filled the void of nothingness?" Where did the void of nothingness come from for the pinhole of light to fill?

Wow, I can't believe that this thread is still going! I see the topic has "evolved" somewhat to include religion and evolution as well as politics. I find arguing about creation vs. evolution to be futile, neither can nor will ever be "proven". You can't "prove" God exists and since, in theory, evolution occurs over at least millions, if not tens of millions, of years it's going to be very difficult to "prove" either because of lack of evidence in the fossil record or becaus

@Evil S You are technically correct in your statement regarding the NPT. The problem is the NPT is joke and always has been. It isn't worth the ink used to pen it. The problem with it, like many treaties of it's type, it requires that all parties are open and honest with each other and that they all operate in a transparent manner. Right there the entire treaty goes out the window since no one wants to be honest with anyone and no one likes to be told they "can't" do something, especial

Sorry...must reply. While I oppose a "one-world government" (even though there probably should be one, but all you have to do is look at our species and it's easy to come to the conclusion "ain't gonna happen") I am more opposed to all this America, UK, European bashing BS. Conspiracies are interesting to explore but the simply facts are THERE IS NO PROOF OF ANYTHING! It's all speculation, guessing, and twisting of facts. I thank God I was born an American, there's no other pl

To Jack-Jack: Eventually I'd like to share my designs in the library. I haven't done it yet (haven't really read how to do it yet) but before I do I'd like to get a more complete set. This latest batch from my last game includes (some are shown above): Star Wars styles: A-Wing, B-Wing, X-Wing, Y-Wing, Millenium Falcon, Slave I, and the Imperial Shuttle. I have a really good Star Destroyer (more refined than my 1.0 version) but I never used it in the last game. The Star T

I used to always pick this one too....but I stopped. I haven't noticed any kind of difference except that now I have an extra ability point to spend on something that yields more tangible results. Spend your points on research and economics; if you can excel in these 2 areas all the other bonuses become rather negligible. You gain techs faster and you increase your income which in turn increases everything from research to production. Some good combos for me have been:<b

What's wrong with a little challenge? So it's a "little" more difficult to be good than bad....I don't see what the big controversy is about. By mid-game everything evens out anyway. Besides there are more good races than bad so if you are good you will always have allies.

My favorite is the one with the guy who's mad because too many people are customizing their ships to resemble Star Wars and Star Trek ships. He wrote a long rant about it, how everyone should be more original and all that. What a pointless post....why would anyone care about how someone else is playing the game? I say make whatever kind of ships you want, make them look the way you want......if you want a ship that looks like the Enterprise

Well, if you had saved some money and kept up relations you could have bought it from them or traded for it....that's worked for me in the past. Especially if you plan on invading them....remember "keep your friends close but your enemies closer". I had a rival find 2 of those bad boys luckily my civ had shrewd diplomatic skills and I was able to convince them to trade them to me. I didn't really need the ships I just didn't want them to have them.<

Me too. I always play on gigantic maps and they still seem too small. Most of the time I don't even have to put life support on my ships since they can reach almost the entire map without it (after colony rush and starbase techs). It would be nice to have a REALLY big galaxy to play with, I know it would probably make the games very long but I don't mind epic length games.

If you play on gigantic maps with tight star clusters like I do then there is PLENTY of empty space. I could see if you picked "abundant stars, tiny map, loose clusters" empty space might be a problem. This problem would be solved by making "terrain" adjustable like everything else....i.e abundant, common, uncommon, rare.
