Might be a good idea Jafo.

/me bumps this thing again, because the requests are coming in again
I seriously hate being the one to say this all the time, but it illustrates a point perfectly. When I won the last GUIOs I was an almost complete unknown. I beat all those 'big name' skinners people seem so worried about, and in a contest which arguably had a lot more politics going on behind the scenes than the current one. Don't decide not to enter just because well-known skinners have already done so. Just try your hardest and enter whatever you come up with. Nobody was more surprise
The actual skin is the middle column (in blue), which consists of 3 seperate sub-skins of varying contrast. The columns to either side are just variations using WB's custom coloring.
For absolutely no other reason than the fact I'm getting bored with this skin already, I thought I'd give you all a preview of my work. This was to be my entry for the GUIOs 'minimalist' category, but is a long way from completion. I wanted something so totally unobtrusive that you wouldn't even notice you were using a skin at all. I'm aware that this looks similar to so many other skins out there, but when it comes to minimalist skins there's really not a whole lot you can do with a whole littl

I was actually talkin about the 'find grayhaze a woman thread'.
I just wanted to let everyone know that it's highly unlikely that I'll be entering the GUI Olympics this year. I have a couple of half-finished skins which probably would have stood a moderate chance of doing well, but they're probably going to stay that way for a while. Rather than go through the pressure of trying to complete them for a deadline, I'll probably be releasing them at a later date, when they're completed to a good standard. This decision is partly due to the fact
Possibly. WindowBlinds. If I tell you any more, I'll have to kill you.
My whole life has been for nothing. Thank you hellish911 for helping me to see the true worthlessness of my work, and prompting me to do something to resolve the issue. Later tonight I'll be deleting all of my over-saturated bubbly crap from the site, after which I will wander down into my basement and make friends with a noose. Thank you. You've saved me the torture of going through another 50 years of meaningless toil, producing increasing amounts of bevelled garbage to feed the ever-

I'm in a charitable mood, so I'll save you before you get yourself in trouble jalwaak. Simply copying the folder over to your new computer isn't the same thing as installing DesktopX from scratch. When you install software, certain information is stored on other parts of the computer which is vital to make the software run. The only way to make sure all these things are present is to do a full inst

Perhaps a good idea would be to give examples of each category from the current library. Last time there was a huge amount of disagreement about what should and shouldn't have been considered for each category, and as we're only limited to two this time it would be useful to know what we should be aiming for.
Further to TSF's question, does every single part of the skin have to be new? I ask this because one of my skins is designed to accompany an existing icon set, and as such would include some images from those icons to create the shell backgrounds, file copy/move animations, etc.
Incidentally, while I do consider the contest an incentive to put an extra amount of work into skinning, I have no delusions that I'll be winning again this time around. I've had my 15 minutes, and I'd like to think that this contest will give someone else a chance to have theirs. I would like to see lesser-known skinners produce their best work go on to win against the known 'experts' in the field. I think that's what the contest is really about - encouraging an emerging talent to flourish with
If there is recognition and money to be had, you can count grayhaze in. The last GUIO 2 years ago is the last time you uploaded a new skin wasn't it? In spite of your mini rant about doing it for fun and the rest of the "community" mumbo jumbo you spewed, the above fact convinces me what you really do it for. Anyways...really looking forward to that new skin you're working
Sorry werewolf, but you're just too hairy. I could buy you a razor for your birthday though? You still wouldn't stand a chance, but at least you'd be smooth.
I do, don't I?
Welcome to the WinCustomize dating thread. We are currently looking for a female companion for grayhaze (sometime Anti-Christ). Any takers? Please post your requests for companionship here. It saves cluttering up all the other threads with these sorts of things.
