Maybe they are getting Military Base upgrades (as suggested in above messages), e.g. they are sitting at their Home World and maybe other locations, where there are Military Star Bases that are giving them bonuses for being inside the area of affect of a Military Base. That seems a reasonable idea to explain what I am seeing, as well as why they can be different for different Races, and sometimes for different individual ships of the same Race. It could also explain the 13 Hit

I have noticed before that the AI players seem to be able to design and build a lot of impossible Tiny warships. Here is a good example Game is Large 16 Races at Genius level and it is April 2311, i.e. 4 1/4th game years. The Arceans have a lot of 2 designs when I check them out via the Trade Screen. They have 61 Asteroid Miners (that can really mine Asteroids) that are Guardian Tiny interceptors with 4/4/4 weapons and 0/0/0 defenses and 13 hit points and 13 Speed. The

All of these small colonies that you end up with when you when a war(s) is won and you destroy an AI Race(s) will end up eating a LOT of Food, i.e. you are likely to have bad starvation problems sooner or later if you are pursuing a military conquest approach/victory.

Until you can get rid of them, better speed and sensor range will help you avoid them. But you will have to do a lot of active manual control of the movement of ships in certain areas, i.e. micromanage them, rather rely on the auto path movement routines. The pirate snipers are the fastest and longest range, but they are the easiest to kill off. Th e Space Monsters and Precursors are much harder to get rid of but the areas they affect will be smaller.

After you add a few things to it from surveying anomalies results, the Discovery can become good enough to take on the "lightly defended" anomalies, from those you can sometimes get some small or tiny warships or warship designs to rebuild in your shipyard to add to the fleet. You particularly want to choose the Field option for the 3 way defense item choice as an upgrade. It adds 4 to Shields of ALL ships in the fleet, including any cutters/gunboats/etc. that you add from the lightly d

A CORE World IS a World that you have assigned a Governor (Leader) to. You could make a size 1 Colony World into a CORE World if you wanted, but it would normally/usually a very bad/worthless idea. You might want to Core a fairly small World if it had a special resource available that you wanted to develop, but usually they do not any to develop. A Core World is one where you can give orders to build Districts or Special Buildings on the Tiles, including Terraforming any Tiles. Howeve

ONLY the Core World that built it contributes to it. Everything else gets funneled through the Core World before it gets sent to the Shipyard. Which means only those Colony Worlds and Asteroid Mining Bases that send their output to that Core World matter. Anything that goes to a different Core World will be sent to a different Shipyard, assuming that it has a Shipyard. So do not make those really small size Colony Worlds into Core Worlds. It varies by the Player and what

Do NOT send a ship without Infinite Range down a Subspace Stream, it might be able to move a turn or two down it before it runs out of range and can no longer move. I was unable to move it back to it's origin Sector, i.e. my Home Sector, and the only way that I was able to do a end of turn was to delete, i.e. destroy, the ship. Later in the game when an infinite range colony ship or constructor builds a source of range in the Sector at the other end of the subspace stream, then a non infinite

I have played several games. Getting the Eyes of the Universe Wonder (it is worth Rushing it, since it gives nice adjantcey bonuses to neighboring research districts) and the 2nd Subspace tech (Subspace Scanning (1st) to Subspace Streaming (2nd)) make it much easier to find the other Sectors and Races. Then you can use a Surveyor type ship with infinite range to find where all the Races are. Zoom way out to the point where you can still just see the locations of all of the Hypersp
