Some of us gets crashes unless we manually flag the game for LAA. A game may last 5 min or over an hour, but the crashes are inevitable. As soon as a player flags his game for LAA, he never crashes again. Not sure what's going on with the memory usage there, but apparently 2gb isn't enough on some setups. If it helps, we all run Win7 64-bit, and have at least 8gb ram installed. Of course me and my friends with these problems can just keep applying the LA

I love Steam for its service. The ease of purchasing, updating, and organizing games is awesome. I really like when games offer an optional steam-key so I can enjoy the service. I hate steam for keeping my games hostage. I have no guarantee that the products I have payed for will be available to me in the future. If bad things happen with a game purchase, I cannot exercise my rights as a consumer. Any complaints through legal authorities or my local bank is likely to end in a blocked
I think that idea has merit from a standpoint of ease of managing your traide,s mq, but it makes it hard to think about how you could hold trade routes at risk in a war situation (or even from the creatures of the wild). Could you lay out a mechanic that allows for trade route disruption in the "trade screen" setup? Maybe we reimagine the whole concept of trade.
Why make it harder than it is? Not to put
I like the free view, but I wouldn't mind some colored underlay when placing buildings so that it gets clearer when zoomed out.
I completely agree with the OP. The idea of vulnerable caravans populating trade routes is awesome. Micromanaging them: not so much. There really is no reason that establishing trade routes couldn't be made easier. Give me a button on my city for "establish trade route", let me pick a target city, then automate the rest, including costs.
After WoM I kept my expectations low, but wow! I never imagined you could improve the game so much, and still keep the feeling of Elemental. It would have been so easy to just redo it all like just another civ-clone, but you really didn't. The graphics are still Elemental, but so very much prettier. And the gameplay is still so very unique, but with a great level of structure and polish. Besides some random crashes it's easy to forget that this game is just a beta. [e digicons
In my mind it should be option 1, but largely automated. I think that the problem is not between option 1 and 2, but we should have a fairly sophisticated system you can easily use. As a player I just want to say to the comp "I want sword +2 in the town of Blablabla", then it calculates all the things you need. And a caravan UI would let you tinker with what the comp porposed to you, in order to enhance the placement of the

While I have not experienced this bug myself, two of my friends experience this as well. They can log in and host games, but their games do not appear in the lobby; nor can they join any games. They don't even come as far as the NAT screen, they are simply told that they can't join. They are running Windows XP 32-bit and 64-bit respectively. Being unable to play with other players does limit their ability to playtest quite a bit. I hope there is a fix on the way for this.
I think this post pinpoints the problem with the RTS side of the game perfectly. The problem isn't that there isn't deep enough RTS-elements, that's a given since the game is meant to mix styles. The problem is that the fundamental RTS thinking is missing. Controlling mutliple units doesn't make an RTS (Or did NWN2 become an RTS when I wasn't looking?), it is the way you play and think that matters. Demigod doesn't look half bad, and Generals are as fun as Assassins to play. The
