Incest is too useful. If you arrange a marriage between two people in your dynasty, the female is duplicated. Kids can ally themselves with defeated powers. Capitar may have destroyed Tarth, but that doesn't stop my grandchildren from deciding that Irane's the cooler grandparent.

I think you've misunderstood. You don't have to "purchase a license" for Impulse. It uses the same account that you used to post in these forums, so you already have the license. All you have to do is download it and log in. No extra payment is needed. It's no different from Valve only letting people download Portal off of Steam.

"Living every day as if it was your last" is an oversimplification of the attitude in question. A more accurate description would be "Remember that you could die on any given day, so don't screw today up. However, odds are you won't die any time soon, so don't screw tomorrow up either." The basic idea is not to hold grudges, take as much joy from each day as you can without destroying any hope you have of taking joy from remaining thousands of days you probably have left, don't bother yo

It would be nice to be able to upgrade a unit without it stripping everything and starting over again though.
In Elemental, what we're doing is actually giving each item its own heft with its own physics. The trick is to find a way to do this that still lets it run on lower end hardware so it has to be done smartly. At the same time, you want the guy with that new Core i7 with the latest nVidia or ATI card to look at it and go DAMN that's cool.
For the lower-end hardware, you could use the physics engine to make preset animations when a unit is created. g00berhead: aside from the idea of gold armor (gold is quite possibly one of the worst metals for armor that isn't mercury) and making production of knights historically accurate (it would be way too convoluted, the production time you're talking about would probably make knights obsolete by the time you finished training them, and there aren't going to be any knights in the game anyway unless you name a cavalry unit "Knight", so historically accurate training wouldn't mak

Will we be able to upgrade preexisting units if the materials are available? For example, if I have a city garrisoned by broze-wearing pikemen and it receives a shipment of iron armor for some reason, can I give the pikemen the armor to save on training time?
