Also, see my other thread, I just posted ANOTHER screen shot that has me wondering...
Dearmad
s'cool. I is just hoping.
Well, possibly inthe other thread Brad is mentioning the picking of our VPs... he says the AI is very good at picking them. Maybe it makes a huge difference... I'll have to try another game. But all the same ADVERTINSING UP THE WHAZOOO (hitting CNTRL-M for $5,000,000 instantly) and I STILL can't gain... that's a little much to believe.
Excellent, let me know the keys and I'll be hitting them. Seriously, if the game is this deep that I'm having thinking problems like this about it, that will rock. I HOPE it's not a bug, just something I need to learn to do.
Oops, meant to say if it's those other non-displayed chatracteristics, mine shouldn't be that bad as I gave a good interview. Unless the press lies!?!?
Well then what is this magical thing, because I'd like to know how to take advantage of it. It's getting sorta spooky how states just start flipping really fast to the enemy.
Where suddenly a previously ignored issue becomes ISSUE #! or much more important than it was due to outside unforseen events.. like the Korea issue is suddenly on everyone's mind on the west coast since the Koreans are sighted suntanning on the beaches, or something... or suddenly the ANWR issue is #1 in NW states since even MORE oil was discovered under there, or- the ECONOMY suddenly heats up, or ABORTION RIGHTS get to the forfront of a bunch of N
Sometimes ( a LOT of times) the AI is in the air going to the ?? in my game AS the ?? pops up...
Mine occurs in freeplay or whatever, so it's not limited to campaign mode. I'm satarting to think it's linked to difficulty level maybe? I mean it's got to be some particular setup we do since not everyone's complaining about this. I am using a custom candidate, are you guys?
Heh... maybe that little old lady story teller is working in EVERY State or something?? I can't be losing that badly! And the other thing is that I was winning NORMAL level games handily awhile ago and then of late- WHAMMO, this happens to me everytime. It's too annoying to play the game like this.
Additional notes and a screenie: NORMAL level of play. I gav eone interview after which the press said I was great! Also this "bug" doesn't happen instantly... things will be going swimmingly and then as the game goes on it's like Bush ahs magical powers or something around turn 20+. It's like a bug that builds on itself or something. Anyway in the image not all m
I posted this image in the carter thread... but I htink it deserves its own thread as a possible bug. What is going in this state... http://www.applesnake.net/whatgives.png
Here's an image of me facing the smae thing in Florida: http://www.applesnake.net/whatgives.png Seems like something's screwed up if you ask me.
Yeah I know about those... that's why the stuff I mentioned is the stuff I'd still like to see because it's not on the map. Also the State-state results coming in with totals showing would be COOL, as sugested ABOVE by FIREBALL. GREAT IDEA!
I've seent this too. It's ahppened to me at Normal and Tough levels. At the last bit of the campaign the other guy just seems to magically turn states where I have like 5 TV adds playing, a TOP level HQ,, radio, newspaper, etc... I'm wondering the people are just saturated with me? It's a strange thing.
You're funny, Brad. This reminds me of GalCiv where there's no level that is: 100% turned on AI. 0% no extra resources to AI. Could you guys consider this time adding in that sort of difficulty level? I like that level as I like to see what the AI can do without having extra whatevers. Such a game balancer you are, Brad, but please consider my request.
Oh I will. I'd just like to know about where things are "fair" so I can divide evaluating the AI vs. the resouces- ie which is killing me more, lack of resources given to the AI or the AI itself. Then I can decide better what sort of game I want to play. Right now tough is truly that for me. Tough. And I take back normal not being a challenge- I got caught with my pants down last night- but I WAS playing a silly game in whi
I'm not sure I like that as the AI is so fast... but is that how it's meant to be a race to see who can click on it first?
I emailed ya.
I'd like to see advertising budgets divided by type. Fundraising totals for a candidate Things like where the cnadidates spent most of their time. WHAT they spent most of their time doing: %'s of time spent fund raising, making ads, wasted (you know what I mean!), travelling, building HQ's, etc...
IMO the one critical element the game lacks is dealing with the political fallout of all your campaign promises. If this game were half of a political game and the other half was living down your election strategies while in office (in a similarly abstracted way) the game would have a lot more oomph to it. That way it wouldn't be such a simple strategy for me in the election to decide to make some issue the other candidate hasn't campaigned on and is
On the last minute blitz of political operatives: DO NOT FIX THIS- it should be SOP- just get the AI up to speed on how to do it, and make sure it does it. Geez, don't cripple the game needlessly by making stamina even MORE important than it already is. One change to political points I think should happen: make the political favor points degrade by 1 point per week if >0. People who owe you favors are more likely to DO them when tyhe iron
I've won on Normal with low experience. I had a high stamina though. Stamina is too powerful statistic, however.
I've played 3 games so far up to normal level- not a real challenge yet. So what level is the game balanced at, meaning the AI gets no advantages and is playing to the best of its abilities?
So we get our serial numbers for the preorders when?
