Problem is that the whole substructure for aero (and with it the entire old desktop) is planned to be taken out. So one day you'll find yourself with ModernUI and no old-style desktop. That's the way MS envisions it. First let people adapt to new version by keeping old in, then phasing out old and leaving only new. Which is perfectly logical. It makes no sense to keep two completely different UI's in one OS. In comes Windows Blue. Since Ms made it known

The OP is about how this mess of an OS ever got released, i have an opinion which happens to be a majority opinion. So your socalled objective response isn't objective, how could it be when most of the world doesn't want it? There is no you hate it or love it. There is is most people don't like it and a minority likes it. That is objective, since its supported by countless newsposts all over the internet. The only one who loves it paul thurrot. In the r

That's not a good thing... pop too many and you become so immune to them that they do little or nothing to relieve your pain... and when little or nothing works, that's when you really know what pain is all about. But to use them in practice you need minimally a keyboard, making it a cumbersome system. In fact you replace a perfectly good working platform such as a notebook for a less capable gadget. oh my. actually the form factor and not having a keyboard makes tablets useful for certain tasks (remember all that maintenance staff that had slates?). just because

Everyone's life is at least somewhat "connected" these days (personal and/or business) and can be made better/easier through newer mobile computing tech. However, mobile computing expects to change the way you compute. Does this sometim

As long as companies everyone loves to hate are in business they must be doing something right. Now that sh

There are to many major corporations for MS to fight on this one, so no, I think smaller apps may come down to being available only in the App Store, perhaps, but that major software will remain as is... purchased from the developer and installed by th
