My advice: let it go Martin. I got as advice to update my videodrivers. Yeah right. From catalyst 13.1 to 13.2 for an old radeon 7950. That'll do the trick. I'm not even going to try because i have to do a complete system restore to get my computer running again. Stardock has gone over to the dark side, so from now on all updates are windows 7 backwards compatible as luck will have it.

Problem with Germany is that it went down the wrong path and is trying to get out of it without too much loss of face/money. They are overloading the european grid with their massive windcharges to the point their neighbors cut off their flow so as not bear the brunt. I didn't confuse anything. WinRT will replace in time Win32, after which it'll be a blackbox as i described. There is no other way forwards for MS. W8 is dead in the water and no tweaking that mess is going to get it alive.

WinRT is a way to control application delivery to your system. Nothing will run in the WinRT box that isn't signed by Windows Store, i.e. for which you pay MSTax to download. I paid MSTax for 20 years for MS-DOS i never used, no way i'm going to pay any longer. I am happily connected to the 99% non-fossil fuel french electricity net. At 4.5 Eurocents a kw/h it would take me triple the lifetime of a solarpanel to get the investment back even whilst living in an area with 300 sunny days per year.
