Edit 2: Okay. I had to follow a few more links to buy it at totalgaming/stardock --"more info" link at top right of main page. Had to "try" to buy 10 game tokens, then cancel, then pick the game from their SECOND listing of games. That worked and I am downloading using SDC. Funny how you can't buy it directly from the main page by clicking the "buy now" link.

EDIT: I can't buy it on my second PC using stardock, nor can I buy tokens. Same error. Just looked on both PCs. I can't buy ANY games. I can't buy it at totalgaming either. Kindly advise.

I can't buy the game using stardock. I also don't see the [HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Fusion!EnableLog] described below when I do a regedit. Message is: "Assembly Load Trace: The following information can be helpful to determine why the assembly 'App_Web_i0rh33jm, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null' could not be loaded. Beta 3.19 had my 2 opponents building about 1 factory per planet, and not upgrading it to boot. I just got 3.2 so I'll see how that goes. The other game was on gigantic, so maybe the game just can't take it. I DID have that extra resources for AI checked (AI can think longer), but I don't know if it actually took any longer. Just reporting what I noticed. Thanks for the patches and betas.

Hi and thanks in advance. I posted here, http://library.galciv2.com/index.aspx?m=310. It's the USS Enterprise Model, but I must be missing something since I can't see the ship when I download and install. I'm running v1.2 Beta 2. It might be a long wait for me to get a response there since my post is sort of burried in the Library and I thought someone here would be kind enough to take a look. Thanks again.

I don't think I'll be able to convince you using the present medium, but i'm sure you'd change your mind when in a headlock or something Smiley aside, one can see there is a strong possibility they are debating with teens. I have no desire to deba

If an experienced, intelligent game player can't beat this game, v1.11, after several trial games on tough/Intelligent, then they are not experienced, intelligent game players. The AI is not what it was cracked up to be. To be fair, the game is young and there are patches to come. Until then, if you can't beat the game on Intelligent/Tough then you are very new to gaming or this isn't your forte.

Rare Habitable planets are too rare now, lol. Seriously though, I played a gigantic map with rare habs pre 1.11 and I had about 20 planets at start. Not bad. Decent planets too--size 10-17. This one game with 4 other AIs, wow, none of us are having a good time. I have the most planets because I colonize like crazy but the quality is not that great. 2-3 of the races have only 4 planets, only the Drengin are doing well, relatively speaking. Might be a good game anyway. (Gifted setting--I tried th

Genuis and such are found by looking at the race, Intelligent = Tough. You will see the game "tough" on the bottom, but you can mix and match races. You can have a fool race on tough, and you can have one on Intelligent. If you go above Intelligent on the race, your settings, I believe will automatically go one notch up to painful, or whatever it is. It's at the screen where you choose the races that will play gainst you.

Or, maybe it's not a bug? What is Prestige? It's not a stat that is actually in the game (anymore?). Neither is Employment. So two of the features of this wonder don't even work. More than likely, this wonder was designed for an older version of the game and then removed, but was left in the .xml file. It gives an empir

The Galactic Stock Exchange "Wonder" can't be built since "...in the techtree.xml the tech is spelled "Advanced Trade" but in the PlanetImprovements it requires "AdvancedTrade"." So it looks like the missing space between Advanced and Trade is bugging it. I haven't seen the improvement and was wondering if this is why. Easy to fix for me, but to play the Metaverse I think Stardock has to fix it. Thanks.

One possibility is that I used Netscape 7.2 when I saw IE6 wasn't making anything go. There, my memory fails. Sorry. But that should not have allowed me to gain control over another account. Another possibility is that I was creating my character around the time that your forums go down for maintenance. Maybe that had something to do with it. Wild guess there.

We havent seen that issue is quite some time. What links did you follow whereby you could edit someone else's empire? EDIT : Just to be sure I created a new account, created a new empire, created a new character, went to Edit My Empire and then to Edit My Characters - through the whole process, in order, I was unable to duplicate any situation where I was in con

...but I don't see why the devs should take AI development in a totally different direction, just to satisfy the powergamers. Isn't that like saying, yes chess is a tough game, but this chess program, though easy to beat, seems okay to me (I can win by doing silly things like moving all my pawns up and the program is baffled by that). Why are

This is so weird. I logged out, then logged back in. Now I see my Empire and my character, picture of Koko and all. Maybe someone fixed it. Maybe one has to log out. Odd. Thanks. I will check here in case you need more info. It seems to work now. The red ADD Player sudenly appeared, I added but got someone else's empire. Then logging off then back on cleared that up. Oh well.

14 Replies 11,942 Views

Yes, for some reason the ADD Player appeared. It was not appearing before. So I added Koko as a character and uploaded a pix of Koko. Opps, something went wrong. My Empire is No longer Dogen but is displayed as Imperial EarthForce. It seems I can even edit what is apparently someone else's Empire but I will not touch it. So where is my empire now, lol? Thanks for any help.

14 Replies 11,942 Views

I created an Empire called Dogen. I uploaded a pix of Koko the gorilla. I even have a tagline. But how do I create a character? When I go to Edit Characters, the 3 lines there are greyed out. I see them, the 3 spaces where you obviously should put one or more characters, but I can't type anything in there. I'm using IE 6. I've checked the forums here and I love the posts that say, "It's fixed'" but don't explain what fixed it. So how do I create a character, please? Thanks.

It seems so far like smaller maps, medium and below are better. I remember that in Age of Empires a Gigantic map fooled the AI since it presumed it was playing on a normal map. True too that I go for the diplomatic translators and go for a high diplomacy early. I also go for the Eyes of the Universe. Possibly that is what is making the AI passive against me. My high diplomacy. When I "did" build embassies the AI would not like that. So perhaps I unwittingly toned down the AI's aggres
