One final bump to hopefully find out why the game crashes every time I try this.

I'm having a little trouble getting a grip on how to play GC2. But I don't want to give up on it. Can someone recommend another game with a similar style that I can play to get used to this type of game and then come back to GC2 later after I learned more.

If you select the custom line map galaxy the game will crash every time you select more than two opponents. Is this just me or is it a bug?
It corresponds to the limit of ownership on the minimap so I think it must be the limit of my influence or something like that. Is this line permanently displayed on the main map or can it be turned off. I notice this line disappears into the fog of war so does that mean that my influence actually covers areas in the fog of war?
Sorry for the noob questions but I'm a long time FPS player and this is the first game of this type that I'm trying to play. I'm beginning to see that it was like taking on Falcon 4.0 as my first flight sim. There seems to be a coloured line on the main map. Can someone tell me what that is and how to get rid of it as it's annoying.
According to the manual the galaxy size shoud be as follows: Medium: 6x6 sectors Large: 9x9 sectors Gigantic: 16x16 sectors But when I create a galaxy it is actually the following size: Medium: 5x5 sectors Large: 8x8 sectors Gigantic: 18x18 sectors The other sizes are the same as stated in the manual. Is there any way of turning off the fog of war on the main map so that I can see everything? On the minimap whay do all the stars appear in the area covered by the fog of war but not the planets or anything else. If I'm not supposed to know what's there then why does the minimap show the stars?
