MacsenLP - I'm playing huge everything with very slow speed settings and conquer all as the only victory setting. Take a good look at my starting sector. It's so big I can't even get to the only portal yet [e digicons][/e] Granted getting a starting sector like this is fairly hard, usually takes me 10-15 rerolls, but I'm not interested in winning game, it's the chase of glitches I'm after.
Yea the new AI is a lot smarter. You might want to drip the difficulty down a notch.
Yeah, I'm used to beating the AI without breaking a sweat. I'll see if I'm up to the challenge [e digicons]}:)[/e] BTW, I really like all the updates. I think you're implementing some of the better suggestions and coming up with some interesting twists.
You’re on turn 308. The Manti are apparently more powerful. B\y 308, it’s not surprising other Civs are reaching you. Am I missing something? Influence was greatly reduced in 1.8 over previous versions. But the AI is much better now.
Just seemed a little overpowered for "Normal". Never saw my home sector labeled as being controlled by another CIV. Guess I'm just too used to the "old" AI.
IMHO ver 1.8 is in need of some rebalancing. If you don't go all out for influence you get this (normal level). In previous versions I knew I could overcome huge AI leads, but I've never been out influenced in my Home sector. The AI shouldn't be able to do that, especially at "Normal". And please, please fix map generation. If I've picked max everything and "Far", how are they even in my sector already. This has been a problem for quite awhile, but I though
You can make it a colony and use an orbital improvement to harvest the Harmony Crystals (after getting the right tech). Why make it a core world?
I was just pointing out that the description box says it's a great core planet, which of course is impossible. I'm planning to to do exactly what you pointed out.
Unless the rules have changed you can't assign a Governor to a class 5 planet. Giving a class 5 planet these stats is absurd.
When you select to build the "Nail" it never shows up in your shipyard. This was in the beginning of a game. 1st time it came up.
What if I have installed through Steam? Wording in "Defend the Factory" choice is contradictory. Is the temporary reduction just in my Homeworld or in all my worlds?
I'm pretty sure your Civ leader is the only one that cannot exceed 100 no matter how many Harmony Crystals you force feed them [e digicons]}:)[/e]
Very insightful analysis!
So to be clear you captured a planet, the nearby shipyard flipped to you with full control, but is still being sponsored resource wise by an enemy core world out of your control?
That's correct. However on my next turn the shipyard went to orphan status, so I guess it was just stuck waiting for the opposing civ to take their turn.
Thanks for the update!

Only Mining Starbases can mine strategic resources. The only issue I have with this is that now I have to dedicate my first 2 constructors to my home system. One to get the economic boosts started and the 2nd to mine the Durantium deposit. Kind of negates the boost of having Durantium deposit in every Civ starting system. It also means that if I find a Relic next to resources, I have to send 2 constructors. Not saying the change is totally bad, b
Just checked and firing no longer mentions penalty, so I guess this mechanic was changed, my bad [e digicons]}:)[/e]
Not sure if this was happening in previous versions, but the game is letting me move ministers back to the pool without firing them. No loyalty penalty is being posted either.
Can't say that I've ever seen this one before. Captured a planet and the shipyard closest to it flipped to me. It just so happens that the sponsor of that shipyard is a core planet in the system that I haven't conquered yet. The shipyard build screen came up and asked me what I wanted to build. That's an enemy who knows there place, maybe I'll save them for last [e digicons]}:)[/e] <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/18/60/1860429/95a988a0-323c
