Hi everybody. I used Resource Hacker (I don't know how old or new the version is, it's 3.3.4.75) to replace the icons in shell32.dll (I have Windows XP with SP 2 installed). It was a really painful process to replace each and every icon and took me many hours. But finally it looked good. Now my friend told me I should get the newest online security update from the Microsoft Website ... I did that ... downloaded it and installed it

Hi everybody! Well, the topic says it all. I created a slightly modified msgina.dll with Resource Hacker and now I want to replace the original file with the new one. I use Windows XP with Service Pack 2. I tried to replace the file (in system 32 and also in the dllcache) but it always keeps getting reset to the old file. Any instructions are greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, Stefan
Well, B1uesummers, I did use some programs that changed the icons. Logon Studio was non of them. However I think that one of those programs changed a key in the registry which causes the problem Any ideas?
