My thoughts on this is that it would be fine to do. I don't really see a difference between this vs building districts. I would consider a couple things when adding\changing features like this. 1. If it adds complexity, does it add more to player engagement and enjoyment? For me, building district vs moving citizens around isn't really that much of a difference. It does make me pay

The way weapons and defenses work in GC4 Supernova are completely different than previous games. In Supernova defenses can block damage from any source. Weapons have stats and new uses. This will be a basic guide to weapon and class systems as well as some of my feedback at the end. Not all of the information in this guide may be correct or accurate. I will try and update it as information becomes available. I've been trying to go through battle logs to determi
My last game had a few custom races and ships for those races. Will you still be able to play a save from that game?
Looking forward to A.I. generated quests, battle system upgrade, and the big A.I. update.
If you ever add espionage into the game, changeling would be a good option to introduce with that mechanic
I for one am completely on board with this. The Korath and Altarian mix looks terrifying and awesome. I think it deserves a full race with some menacing looking ship components.
There's been a lot of questions about how the ship designer works, how it meshes with the custom civilizations, when A.I. can use player built ships. I'll try and answer all of those in this tutorial as well as tips and tricks I've found. If I've missed anything feel free to add it below or let me know that I need to add it to this. For this tutorial, we'll do a rundown of: - Ship Designer Basics - Creating New Parts - Weapon Nodes (so ships fire actual w
In number 10 you talk about player flagships. I'm not sure what you mean by they'll replace surveyors. Will we be able to assign a custom ship the title of flagship, or are they set ships like commander ships? Will the A.I. use these ships? If they do, it'd be fun to include assigning a random name to the flagship as well as the fleet it's in.
I have to agree, the single hex is easy to blockade with just a few ships
Gal Civ 3 never had terror stars. I'm curious to see their potential strategic uses. Are they fairly difficult to destroy, or are they the ultimate super weapon that can take on fleets as well. Thematically I love them. I generally play malevolent civs so they fit right into how I play.
Updates to the battle veiwer look incredible. Can't wait to test out the ship role based combat system

The ship designer has been my favorite part of the Gal Civ series and what initially got me to purchase the game. I have spent the majority of my hours in Gal Civ designing ships for use in game and 3D printing. My favorite thing about the game is the storytelling. Taking control of a civilization and taking them through their wins/losses and steps from a minor power in the galaxy to an empire. Most of my storytelling comes from the creation and update of classes of
From the Gal Civ Announcement trailer. The silhouette of this ship looks incredible. I'm eventually going to try and flesh it out.
Galaxy on Fire ship set. I really like the designs of the Dace, Aegir, and Salvehn
Hammerhead from Star Citizen
Egbe-01x from Destiny 2. Probably one of my favorite light gunship looking craft next to the Pelican from Halo
Last set (for now). HexIron has some incredible ship designs. I've posted 2 of my favorite, but if you like these, you should go see them all. There's at least some inspiration for new parts. I especially like how the designs mix aspects of modern tanks with sloping armor an obtuse angles. If you can, I'd like to see the Star Control parts reintroduced at some point. There were some pretty unique and useful parts in those sets. <img src="htt
Okay, these aren't ships either, but I love the aesthetic of these Destiny 2 weapons, an if you remove the handles to these guns you're basically halfway there. You could make a race bent on the annihilation of all other species in the galaxy. Ship designs with this aesthetic would look menacing as they kind of look like bleached shark teeth to me. <img src="https://www.blueberries.gg/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/Zaoulis-Bane-Hand-Cannon-Destiny-2-featured.jpg" alt="Destiny
I mentioned this in the discord, but I'd really like to see a faction the uses concave structuring, something we haven't seen a lot of in GC parts. I'm a big fan of the Armored Core series, and they take advantage of this style a lot. These aren't ships, but most mechs derive from turning a jet fighter into a humanoid so I figure they're similar enough. To kind of show what I'm thinking, I added a couple images below. Parts similar to the shoulders, torso, and legs of th
This is the thread I wanted to see! I have a couple of ideas to post here. First up, the Scrin from Command and Conquer had an alien look to them that I really liked: <img src="https://cdn.st
I'm excited to hear that! I've always enjoyed watching the battle veiwer. If GC Next has improved the ship movement and cinematics, that's even better. The thing I'm most hoping for is seeing some variety in fleets. Seeing a variety of ships classes clash rather than a couple of the same medium hull ship would make battles a lot more visually appealing. Looking forward to this and other things you have planned.
This will give more life to the planetary districts. I'm excited to see the changes to minor civs.
