synthethic population growth could be the max. population you can hold at a planet but i am not sure

as robots you can start a production which increases your population by "2". but thte synthetic population growth doesnt increase the amount of people build by this production so there the population (the green symbol person head) and the synthethic population growth (green symbol person with a "+" next to it)

Hello, Ok first of all i am playing a synthetic race [e digicons]:cylon:[/e] which means i have no food and no population growth ( because of that i set farmer to -2 and fertility too) So I am asking myself what is synthetic population growth, the green symbol with a person and a "+", i am Robots so i build my people there is no growth! Why does this synthetic population growth value even exist? and what is it changing? i cant figure it out. [e
