While Stardock works on balancing (a given during a beta period), I suggest trying an underpowered race like Terran Resistance and see if you can win in any way other than an early rush.

I think the only hope is going back to an autosave and seeing if the behavior recurs reliably.
This is honestly a very difficult question to answer right now because of the current state the game is in. i think that the community would have to wait until more of the proper descriptions and tooltips for everything have been added. right now i think that the best thing that can be done for new/med level players is to add more tooltips and descriptions for how everything works. they should be able to figure out the basics for how most
If you create a military starbase and use a soldier citizen does that citizen give a bonus? If you build a culture starbase how about an entertainer citizen to give a bonus? If not, I do think that using the "correct" citizen for a starbase should give a bonus for said starbase.
Since citizens aren't locked into a certain occupation, this would be pointless. A citizen becomes an engineer by virtue of being put on a
The space monsters are in the ENE section of my starting quadrant, NNE of my second planet. This particular problem is intermittent. I get the wrong heading maybe 10% of the time.
If you win a battle you can click on the battle notification in the upper left to reopen the battle report, rewatch the battle, etc. This applies if you are are the attacker and close the screen or if you are the defender and win the battle.
Negative. I tried that. The only thing that works is clicking on the map icon showing the battle location but that icon only exists after a lost battle. [quote who="DerekPaxt
Derek, Just letting you know that I read this and am placing top priority to answering your follow-ups (above further gameplay). Alas since we are out of the weekend, I'm not sure when this will happen. I'm glad I was able to help with the blocked tiles thing, even if it was completely accidental. > What are the advisor messages that might be more helpful for new/medium level players? Hard to say, but I wouldn't show that particular message if your diplomacy with th
it's beta... this is still the test build. and best way for them to fix everything is to just throw it out there now and let people find all the problems they can now to help move everything along as fast as possible. anyone who really doesn't like the bugs can still just skip the battle viewer for now. might be a bit of a pain but it helps fix everything quicker.
That's not how proper software development is done. It
However the art style in civilization 6 was so off putting I haven’t completed a game meanwhile I 2000 hours in Civ 5.
I am absolutely baffled by this comment. I know 5 has its fans but I find it completely unappealing. To completely dismiss 6 because of its art direction is completely missing the point of the game and missing out on a game that is as fun as any I have ever played.
Maybe you should make it so that the starting Ideology you select at set up automatically gives you like 3 levels of awareness or something like that. Or you earn double the the number of awareness points for your selected starting ideology when you do quests and stuff.
Yeah, either of these would be an improvement. I like the latter better. IDEA: When you spend an ideology point, get another point of awareness
Sovereign stats would be a good way to balance races, but with race customization it doesn't really work. If the community comes up with a system of achievements, I would recommend that the race-based ones require you to not make any modifications from the defaults.
I think it is better now. This issue only affects those of us in the Beta who were used to it the other way.
remember the battle viewer just came out, it's gunna take a min to get it working just right. it already looks great though.
I've never seen the battle viewer work as intended. I haven't watched all of the playthrough videos on YouTube, but the ones I saw were also broken. IMHO, the feature was prematurely promoted out of the TEST build.
the trade issue might
Personally I think that's a feature, not a bug, but it would be nice for the game to tell you that directly. A tool-tip can tell you that black holes are often associated with antimatter.
The battle viewer is a joke. Here is a short video showing the first three problems. The "damage taken" doesn't match the battle log. (4 vs. 3 in this case) The "movie" often does not display the actual action. Sometimes the enemy ship does not appear at all. If you win the battle, there is no way to return to the viewer if you close it on accident. If you are attacked and win the battle, I di
Apologies for putting this in the wrong forum. I've been having all sorts of trouble with the forums thinking I'm logged out when I'm logged in. I originally made the post in the correct forum, it didn't take, and I had to start all over again. Second time didn't work either. Take three, I had to switch browsers and then I guess I didn't click on the correct forum when I did it. Is anyone else experiencing this weirdness with being ambiguously logged in or not logged in?
This is something I'd like as well but like all things it depends on time and probably coding time. I've just poked the team to see how viable this is. Might be a post-1.0 QoL update.
That would make sense. This is more of a nuisance thing, not that close to the top of my priority list.
Yeah I agree, making this a modal is a bit much. Just having it as a left column notification is probably sufficient. My bigger ask would be to be able to go back and review the turn logs for events that you either accidentally dismissed or ignored because you weren't paying attention. I'm pretty sure that doesn't exist today but I'm sure someone will tell me if I'm wrong.
