I am probably missing something completely obvious, but how do we create Ship Styles? Meaning, combining several ships into the Ship Style that can be used when playing the civ. Thanks!

Interesting points, thanks for the info!
Is there an explanation anywhere on how the new ship combat works? I understand that the rock-paper-scissors method has been eliminated, so now we have a combat rating per ship/fleet. How is that implemented? Do weapon types even matter anymore? <p class="MsoNor
No, what I meant was my previous custom civs from GC4 were all "greyed out" and could not be used in Supernova. However, if I edited those civs, resaved as a new civ, and then exited and restarted the game, that new version of the custom civ becomes playable. Based on another forum post, I think it has to do with early access disallowing the previous civs to be used. I guess in Supernova, new civs must be created (or re-created from old).
OK, understood. Thanks!
I am unable to start a game in Supernova with custom civs (or default civs) besides the base Terran civ. What is also weird is when I edit a custom civ, and then save it as a copy of the original civ, the civ’s copy become playable upon a restart (but the original custom civ is still unplayable). What is also strange is that neither that custom civ or civ’s copy are available in the GC4 game anymore after saving the civ’s copy, only in Supernova. &n
Supernova is not allowing me to start a game with any of the default civs besides Terran. Is there a fix for this? Some of us would like to play as the new civs….
Sounds great, any ETA on GalCiv IV Next?
Mentioned before, but not yet fixed: Manti Cluster – Traits listed as: Warriors, Paranoid However, the Strengths and Weakness page upon entering the game notes that they should have the Unwavering trait. So the default Manti Cluster trait should be fixed, or the description should be changed to delete reference to the Unwavering trait.
Thanks! Totally obvious in hindsight, and completely missed it, haha.
How do you upload new civs? I don't see an option to do so, but I'm probably missing something obvious...
Since I haven’t seen it mentioned, here’s an easy fix for your list: Manti Cluster – Traits listed as: Warriors, Paranoid However, the Strengths and Weakness page upon entering the game notes that they should have the Unwavering trait. So the default Manti Cluster trait should be fixed.
Thanks for the responses. I would like to say that I'm optimistic that a good combat system emerges, but many GC3 players were left waiting.... I was really hoping there was more transparency about the combat but it sounds like it would be better for me to check in on the game in a few months and see how it's going.
Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere. I was curious if someone could explain how ship combat works in the game. I've been a GalCiv player since the first game so understand the basic dynamics. Essentially, I am wondering what role Defense plays for ships. In GC3, I vaguely recall that the Defense acted as a sort of HP role such that in a longer combat, the Attack rolls would eventually wear down the Defense and start taking away from actual ship
