There's another UX issue I noticed here as well. If the item (ship) I want to bookmark is in motion, then I actually have to pause (or slow down) the game to add it to the bookmark. Seems that just the ship moving under the cursor is enough to negate the bookmark "pick up" detection.
Could you let me know what name you are putting into the crash reports so I can look them up on the server? You don't need your full email, can just put in"Xzanron" if you like. Thanks.
It never crashed, it just froze during initial loading and I used the Task Manager to kill the process. I did notice that a crash handler process was attached to the sins2 process, but it never did anything in response to my killing th
I'm running "TechPreview_1b" according to Epic, which for me is the test edition. That is the version I posted about.
Did some investigation and discovered the problem is the EOSOverlayRender. Epic does not provide a way to disable this, so if you have this problem, find and rename the EXEs below and the game will start working. Interestingly enough, when I restored the file extension the game still started, so whatever the problem is, it seems to be something to do with the first-
Suffering from the same issue. One thing I noticed is that if I click fast enough, I get to the next screen (welcome message) before everything freezes and I need to kill it.
First feedback from me, as I've not had much time to play earlier versions. Having loads of fun playing the game. These are the things that jumped out at me while playing. Not in any particular order. Lack of feedback on why the turn hasn't ended or been completed. Often I've noticed it's because ships are still moving around off-screen Sometimes though (I've seen this 3 to 4 times now) it seems to hang the game and I need to Alt-F4 and relo
As the title says.. lead has to be the single rarest element in the SCO universe Since I got a quest to start looking for it, I've visited more than a dozen systems and I've found more antimatter, nutronium, TZO Crystals, gold and Francium etc than I've found lead... Has there been some leadtastrohpy, a major lead extinction event?
I'm using that :). Unfortunately it means my bookmarks list a bit useless, as I can no longer quickly find stuff, as it's just a huge list, and the search doesn't process my comments. It's a quality of life thing, as I said.
I'm thoroughly enjoying the game. I love the little details, the alien conversations and then there's the little cultural references... I mean Wolf 359! Even with the game on my SSD drive though, I can still go make a cup of tea when I start the game. The torture of not being able to play... of being taunted that fun is just out of reach. A critical quality of life issue for me is that there is no indication of which planets and systems I've visited before. Not a problem
Turns out... if I don't leave the beta branch... I won't be playing the release version... who'da thunk? doh!
I'm afraid pre-release builds will not have patch notes. After release we will supply patch notes.
That really is a shame, and I hope you re-consider, as I share dennlyc's view. My visit to the forums today was simply to try and figure out what the latest download was about.
I have a soft spot for the Spathi, but I guess they are too important a race to just show up in a prequel.
Programmer's UI: Gamer's UI:
I sort of agree. (Despite being a programmer :P ) One thing I keep finding is that I never really know how full my cargo is, and why I suddenly cannot pick up resources I run over. Moving it more central, where my main focus is, would help, as would seeing my damage state. Also flashing it madly when I run over a re
What i still don't like is the scale of the planets we land on compared to the lander. They are TINY (yes, even the larger ones). I've tried diferent kinds of zoom levels and the feeling is always there, the scale is way off, it feels the planets are a little toy and not a big planet. I still believe you need to add some mini-maps on more screens. The landing part realy needs a mini-map. People will have good nostalgic feeling fr

While I'm a huge fan of GalCivIII, I've been reluctant to play it recently, and the main reason, I feel is because of something mentioned above about accessibility. I've been spoiled rotten by Stellaris, and the way there's a number of ways to achieve almost any action, and it's usually just 2 clicks away. After playing hours in Stellaris the interface for GalCivIII feels cumbersome and disorganised. Paradox of course has the advantage that their engine is almost seven years old now,
I've resolved the issues I had with Govern commands and the UI glitch with galactic events. I uninstalled GalCiv3 completely, deleted GalCiv3 from ProgramData and from "my games" folders, then re-downloaded it. That resolved those two problems. Just thought I'd mention that here in case anyone else has these issues. It seems that some temp data GalCiv3 creates can corrupt updates.
Is anyone having a stuck turn issue since the latest 1.12 was released?
Not seen it in 1.12 yet. The other 2 issues are still there though :( and also that stock ships only have point-defence.
I'm a bit confused. What's the actual version number for 1.11 ? Is it 1.1.10, 1.1.11 or 1.11.? Currently my game EXE is 1.1.10 which I thought was the 1.1 patch, as that's what it still says in-game. Am I wrong?
Interesting... i noticed that in a recent game as well. I thought it was my research, but the game ended with the "stuck turn" bug before I could confirm it.
Just had to kill another game after getting stuck turn again. Hope 1.11 is out soon. Updated OP with screenshots.
Since the 1.1 updated I've encountered a number of issues, two of which with high impact on the game: The third campaign mission has frozen on me twice. (I.e. stuck at "waiting" and never giving me my turn again). Happened again when I restarted the campaign from scratch. Going back to auto-save doesn't help, it just happens again. (I think i still have the saves, if you need them) This also happened to me once during a normal single-playe
It's been a long time since I last played, and I'm not much on the forums, so apologies if any of this has already been mentioned. A race was defeated and tried to give me their remaining facilities. It didn't work. I got the "you can have our stuff" message every turn, with no effect, I ended up destroying those facilities to stop the messages showing up I managed to get into a situation where the battle simulation was running behind the main display (I c
