As much as I'd like to get behind reducing micro and APM, I don't believe that enabling auto-sell is a good decision. The timing of selling is very important, especially in a 1v1 environment where the cumulative effects of proper timing leads to winning or losing. Auto-selling enabled by defaults leads to new players unknowingly making mistakes. Using alunimum, for example, theres 3 early game cases. Both players mine aluminum --> It's a race to se

[quote who="InSyncOTC" reply="10" id="3607710"] Quoting blackmagic1, reply 8 I'm going to disagree that all the HQ's are balanced at the moment. Scientists have a clear advantage based on the double fuel cost change in beta 8 and 9. Why do you think that 9 times out of 10 the scientific spot is the first one founded and

Im on steam as well: indczn. Can't miss me. Haven't been around as much lately, woo real life, but feel free to add me. The problem the stock/debt is that its been tweaked so many times that I stopped caring what the formula really is. The important thing is Debt = lower stock price. Cash has a lower effect on stock price, but cash flow is king.

[quote quoting="post"] Good day to everyone, I have purchased this wonderfull game 4 days ago and have 10 hours of gameplay. However i find it a bit dissapointing that a 40€ game (20 with sale) you need to see a youtube link to get a decent tutorial and still don't get one! And now even with these movies and some searches here on the forums i need a few noob questions answered... 1-what do sandstorms do? <span

Killing the main threat is usually the thing to do, no matter what the stock mode is. The only time someone else was purchased happened was they lagged far behind and/or debt spiraled and were cheap. I don't think changing the function of stock is going to change this aspect very much. The cashflow from the subsidiaries will hopefully justify the "investment" into stock, instead of trying to snowball enough cash via resource manipulation to win. Either way, I'm thrille

I admit I haven't played too many matches with destroy buyout on. I did watch the games Cubez posted/streamed. I don't like the mode at all. It removes almost all incentive to buy someone for their advantages, and turns it into buying someone because they are a stronger player, instead of being a strategic decision to buy someone out for their resources and production Since it clearly looks like destroy buyout is intended to be "anti-snowballing" it has certainly achieved that

Yes, I'd like to see graphs like that. Cash/Resources/buildings/debt often get coverted from one to another so it would be nice to see how those items are related to come up with the colony value and stock price. Having those on the same graph with the vertical event markers (upgrades, shorts/surpluses/offworld launches/etc) would make it much easier to understand what is going on and how growth is effected. All of those should be included because towards the end of the game, ther

This could work. The only thing is that it mandates using offworlds at a certain point. Price would also only ever rise offworld, which I still find bothersome. It will also mess with the game length. The exponential growth should tie in line with the desired game length, but im not sure offhand how long 30 minutes is in game days. By market prices, do you mean onworld? If so only glass/electronics would always be the end game resource as they start highest.

[quote who="Cubit32" reply="9" id="3585904"] The balance between D rating and making it to the offworld 2nd is a thin line to balance your competitive 1v1s on. D ratings occur not too often but frequently enough in highly competitive QMs. Usually the person to get to OWs first even by just 5 seconds usually wins the game because the first infusion of >40k cash is huge. The only other ways in 1v1 to generate a lot of cash within a couple of game days are natural and artificial shortage
