"Awacs," hmm? I seem to have found a fellow FreeSpace 2 junkie.

Although I am not entirely sure of the ReactOS' team goals, I don't believe they are motivated by the need to make product that can ably compete with Windows. Unlike other opensource endeavors like Linux, which have massive corporate funding, ReactOS really does fall under the category of "Hobby OS" - they've just decided to model their system on Windows. Also, where Microsoft will continue to move forward with their NT platform, the ReactOS team is cu
Daiwa i just try that jet database and itstill doesnt work it still asking for the data source and i cant use any skin i got the lastest verion of it too iam stuck on what to do this really sucks u know of anything else i can try to get wb5 to work plz Come on man, just look at comment #23!</font
To quote a good friend of mine, "Oh snap!" Are these hardware or software troubles? Software problems, especially with Windows, are pretty easily solved and do not necessarily require Official Computer Shop Assitance. Many people here are quite knowlegdeable on how to fix Windows. *grins
i just got wb5 whats this data souce thing and i cant use any skins this keeps showing up dont know how to adjust it what data what source i can find anything plz help First of all, there is nothing I appreciate more than proper English when someone wants assistance. This is not that. But r
It appears that WB5 is not multi-user enabled. Any comments or work arounds. Furthermore, dont see any custom color adjustments anymore I couldn't really say about the multi-user stuff, as I run a single-user system. My apologies. In regards to the color button, yes, I did notice its disapp
Thanks, GreenReaper. Exactly what I wanted to know.
Ah, thank you, my good fellows!
I am sure I am not the only member of JoeUser who has ogled the shiny translucent screenshots of Windows Vista builds, eagerly awaiting the day whenst the same eye-candy would find its way onto our own humble desktops. Thanks to Stardock, that process has been accelerated considerably. Obviously you know this, as perpixel borders are the Big Feature for Win
I agree with the prior posts: The reason I enjoy using DesktopX so much is because of its value as an IDE. Now that Microsoft is trying to move away from Visual Basic in favor of the .NET architecture, this sort of rapid-application-development software is extremely useful. DesktopX 3 does stuff that Visual Basic can't even come close to in effort/time.
Hehe, Halloween is tomorrow for us over here across the pond. Sorry to hear about the rain, we too have been getting a lot of that from those damnable hurricanes.
Gotta love the Onion.
Thanks for the tip. It certainly is the best. TYCUS, an FTP client uses the FTP protocol to upload and download files. YOu probably don't need it if you don't know what it is.
Ahhh, it's MDAC that WB wants. I too experience this problem, because I run a stripped down install using nLite ( Link ). Glad to see someone discovered what exactly was causing the problem. A question for the WB devs though, why does the new WB required MDAC for skin manifest storage? I assume WB4 just used a flat file, did you guys just want to move to a real DB?
Thanks, guys. I wasn't aware that the button fix did funny things to localized systems. I have indeed seen skins that match the mouseover with the background, and that probably is the best way to do it for the time being. Hopefully the Skinstudio and Windowblinds teams will be able to work some mojo and give us a reliable and/or documented method of doing this!
This is a rant, not a whining diatribe. Thank you. Has anyone else among the WindowBlinds community noticed the interesting variations regarding the All Programs button in the Start Menu? By default, XP's skinning engine and even SkinStudio do an ugly little color overlay instead of a nice bitmap. Case and point: <img src="http://img434.imageshac
Uh, this is certainly an opnionated remark, but from the screenshots I have seen of OS/2 4, I believe its interface is vastly inferior to that of KDE or Gnome.
I think this small example sums up a large portion of what is wrong with religion today: the superior feeling that comes from thinking that your belief is better.
First off, to the parties I mention in this post, please do not take offense to anything that I say. THIS IS NOT AN ATTACK on anyone, I am merely trying to point some trends out I have noticed on WinCustomize. Thank you. Mormegil, thank you very much for being such an active contributor to the skinning community, and for writing those fantastic Icon-A-Day tut
In theory, I think it's a great idea. As a student in high school, I tend to greatly appreciate the diversity of course offerings (and am likewise quite disappointed when many are cut due to budget constraints). I think it would be good to be more specific in your views, though. For instance, while this may be good for mature students who already have background on both sides, this is probably a poor idea to use on younger students, as they probably ar
I think an important part to remember when considering banner-powered advertising, or even AdWords, is that a good deal of people (myself included) employ AdBlock, Greasemonkey, and a custom HOSTS to hide advertisements. Although I am a subscriber to WinCustomize, I still would see a grand total of zero ads if I were not.
Hehe...conspiracy theorists, rejoice.
Hey, everyone. It's been a long time coming, working up the courage to post a sample of my work on JoeUser / WinCustomize, but I think I'm about ready and therefore present a shot of a Work in Progress. I, uh, do draw icons sometimes, when I happen to be feeling particularly creative. Over the couse of the last year, I have indeed gotten better, and would appreciate a
I have to agree with BlueDev and the lot, the Premium skins haven't been updated in years. Also, perhaps more than two? Also, it might be nice to have some more choices for titles.
Anyone ever heard of the game Beyond Good and Evil? It's somewhat of an overlooked game, as it was released by Ubisoft around the same time as the new Prince of Persia game, and guess which one the marketing dough went to? I've heard it called "the best game nobody played", and while part of that statement is rather sad, it stands true. Confused? Beyond Goo
