Multiple questions about customizing Vista in Beginners WinCustomize Forums

Hey First time on the forum here so please correct me if this is in the wrong place or that this topic is already existing and I couldn't find it :O Anyway I'll just start asking away ;) My first question would be about the login screen. How much slower does this make your computer? I really like making the interface of my computer better looking, but I don't want to loose too much speed. Also does this force me to download a program to fullfill this or can it be done
