Sincere thanks to everyone on this thread. I've slept on the decision a couple of nights and I'm pretty certain I'm going to go for ObjectDesktop Ultimate. The $69.95 is going to hurt but I'm hoping it'll be worth it. :)

I think I'm starting to get it - so say a friend has only windowblinds (but doesn't have DesktopX) and I've got Desktop x standard and I create a widget,my friend who has windowblinds but not DesktopX wouldn't be able to run my widget?

Hello, I've decided that I definitely need to buy at least Windowblinds (can't be dealing with Vista's black taskbar any more). I'm a bit confused at what's included in the various packages available and their abilities though. I should probably start by saying what I need and would like: I certainly need to be able to change the look of my own computer. Vista is nice in parts but that black taskbar for one thing is making it difficult to work with. A m
