Also cool is that the 8.1 Enterprise eval is no longer the preview version today AND Visual Studio 2013 is out of beta today also. Time to start making some RT apps. ;) http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/ http://www.microsoft.com/visualstudio/eng/visual-studio-2013

One thing that has been causing a massive number of Blue screens in Firefox is the newer Nvidia drivers on the 4xx series of cards. If you have an Nvidia card, reinstall driver ver 314.22. Nvidia drivers have been absolutely awful lately on their older cards.

Thinking back Gunship 2000 with the realism ramped up was probably the 1st very hard game I played as a kid. Falcon 4.0- I actually got good at that game and was able to do a full missions from start (takeoff) to end (landing).... but it took about a year of practicing the stuff in the manual. The absolute worst I've ever encountered on any platform is Solaris on the Atari 2600, still haven't finished that damn game yet. It is probably the most awesome 2600 gam
But then what happens to the Small Indie Developer that can't afford a PR guy? As a small indy developer you need to be exceptional. A lot is riding on you, so you must have the mindset to overcome your own weaknesses. Yes, intolerance of other people's crap is a weakness, as the greatest strength in our society comes from team efforts. Our society does love to laud the individual, yet most of thos
In my career, the most painful, upsetting lawsuits have been, by far, the patent related ones. They make my blood boil.
This is one of the things that fascinates me about the game industry. What exactly are the patent trolls claiming you violate? User interface? Network technology? Making a blip move on a screen? Could you possibly name a few general areas where they are prone to attack?
Had the government forced framers to pay their "farm hands" more than the cost of one of those new fangled tractors, we would have seen the mechanization of farming occur much more rapidly and a much greater difficulty of displaced farm hands to find new work. Maybe I am trying to convince Ptarth to fix the Unclean Beast plague slowdown issue. Which means a reason for another version of Uberfix, which leads to a new mod package installer, which means I can fix in a few changes to BalanceMod.

If you watched Indie Movie, it seems his previous business partner had him over a barrel on the IP, so it is not surprising he is a bit ornery having to deal with more dip shits when he is busting his balls to make games by himself. He should just tell the game journalism world world to F off in the most spectacular meltdown as possible (so we remember who he is) and then go make a new game in solitary. Then when he comes back a few years later, we can be reminded of his melt

OK how about Sins of a Solar Empire: Star Control :D
Quoting LORD-ORION, reply 18 Heh, hopefully the new StarControl starts off with "I awoke from a bad dream about the Hegemonic Crux, eternal ones and Daktaklakpak" It won't be a continuation but more akin to a revisit (ala XCOM using Star Control 2 as the inspiration and start back before the earthlings were in any kind of slave shield). &

Did you ever purchase a Zune on sale? If you did, you might have held off on an RT. I personally think it is prudent to see if a new surface RT model will be available, because instead this could very well be the death toll liquidation sale MS is known for.

Gah... I try to avoid the argument all together with... "Pollution is bad, stop polluting." Take care of the easy things 1st I guess. Regardless, go read "Sea Sick" if you really want to see what the impact of pollution is having. It paints a pretty grim scenario with the ecosystem buffers because of stupid human nature. Basically, we can create enough pollution right now to damage the oceanic eco-systems directly, but the natural buffers temporarily mitigate that.

3 way tie Sword of Aragon- If this game got remade with some design polish and multiplayer, it would be fantastic. Moo2- Can't mess with the classic, but needs better tech balance, because most of the time the decision is always production / research tech. Imagine MOO: Battle at Antares II- A tweaked remake of the original with the inclusion of Moo3 races (heh, now imagine Moo II with Antarans attack and all the while the Harvesters are festering in the dark corners of spa
