a tactic that works for me is to have around half my fleet made up of carriers, strike craft cause total bloody havoc and if u have about 60 squads they will make mincemeat of most things nearly instantly. using this tactic and then having a balanced combat fleet to take the damage, ive never had any problems with subverters.
