Just head to Amazon to find out why people weren't happy with Spore. The gist of it is that they felt like they were renting the game. It was definitely an overreaction, as the vast majority of people don't even install over 3 times (I think EA released figures that only 0.4% of people install over 3 times or something like that). It's more of a matter of principle in my opinion. When you pay such a large amount of money for a game (especially us poor Australians), you don't e

Did you add in copyrighted music over the top of it?
I've noticed this. And yeah, you just need to change your fraps key. It's not a bug.
I saw this. I have no idea why they would do that. They say it's financial reasons, yet Age of Empires always tops PC charts. After Blizzard RTSs, I think AoE games are the next best sellers (Nope, AoE1 even sold more than WC3 according to wiki). God knows what's going on with Microsoft.
Hey folks, Expert Sup Com player, and GameReplays Strategy Specialist TheBigOne, has kindly written a guide introducing the elements of scouting and stealth in Demigod. I think almost everyone could learn something from this guide. An Introduction to Scouting and Stealth Also, GameReplays
Remember that concept art =/= finished Demigods.
Hey folks, We've put together a 3-page Beginners' Guide to Demigod over at GR. I hope it helps you all get into the game quickly. Also, expect some excellent work from both TheBigOne and Sorian to come in the near future <img src="http://forums.gaspowered.co
Hey folks, I've made a tiny little application that allows you to watch replays in Demigod. The Demigod replay viewer is quite buggy, but still works reasonably well. Be sure to check it out, and feel free to ask if you need any help. http://www.gamereplays.org/community/index.php?showtopic=405375 Remember to follow the instructions. Thanks
Did anyone actually visit the link I posted? There's a guide on how to use Hamachi there. And also, lprometheus, don't post your network here, post it in that forum where everyone can see it. Speaking of which, with the beta coming up shortly, now would be a good time to set up your network and post it, or join another network ready to play with others.
Brent and Plantgirl, you should add your networks to the Hamachi network forum for Demigod: http://www.gamereplays.org/community/index.php?showforum=2767
Hey everyone, As you all know, the beta will be upon us shortly. You are also probably aware that the beta will not have direct multiplayer support, but we WILL be able to play using Hamachi, which is piece of software that allows you create LAN-like networks over the Internet. Hamachi networks only allow for a maximum of 50 people (and that's with the Premium version), so we're going to need many networks if everyone is going to have a chance to play. To make the whole
This is possibly the best thread on these forums so far. ze0 hit the nail on the head.
Anubis imo.
Well, if it doesn't make any sense then why would you assume it? Generals will have armies, but they will be strong in their own right. I very much doubt that assassins will be able to just waltz in and destroy a general with ease then wipe out his army in a similar manner.
Very nicely done! Nothing I haven't seen (or co-wrote :D) before, but I'm sure many people will find this useful.
Yeah it's scheduled for early September now.
Yeah, I suspect that's what they mean. You'll need half the clock cycles, roughly speaking. It will probably run well enough on a single core in that case.
Will we be able to play over the Internet using Hamachi? Plantgirl, yes you will, otherwise why would you be in a LAN?
It's nice to see people defending Demigod as not being a DotA clone, and I definitely agree that people shouldn't think of it as that. But let's be realistic here; If you were going to describe Demigod to someone, you would start by describing it as DotA then explaining the differences. It's obvious that it is the most major influence. How many other (popular) games are there out there that involve teams of "heroes" that level up and gain gold by killing enemy units and heroes, and the aim of th
This won't happen. Too much work, practically impossible to balance, and mixing demigod parts would just look plain stupid.
Mouse movements + camera would be /drool Seriously though, that would be such a great feature for the competitive community. If you add chat then you could even make tutorials just using replays (do the stuff and chat to yourself to explain what you are doing). Please make this a high priority GPG. Competitive community is absolutely key to creating a lasting fan base.
We all know why replays just can play forward and you can't just select any time, but having some "keyframes" every 5 or 10 minutes would be really cool. It surely should be possible to save all conditions of a single tick either in the replay itself (which surely would increase their size) or at least when watching the replay, so you can jump back 5 minutes rather then watching it from beginning on if you want to see a certain scene again.
That could increase the size of
I can't remember the name of the guy that did it, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't Jeremy. Also, I doubt it would be available for download. You could probably just extract the audio from the trailer somehow. I'm sure there's programs for that if you do a bit of Googling.
More RAM only helps if you actually need more RAM. If the game isn't using all the RAM that you currently have then you don't need more of it. Also, don't waste money on fast RAM. It's very literally a waste of money. The performance difference between the dirt cheap RAM and the super high end RAM is 10% at absolute best. That money is much better spent of CPU or Video card. Just get the cheapest RAM there is and enough of it to run the games you play then focus on other parts of your c
