i cant help but think of it from the qa perspective since that is what i do professionally. i ended up uninstalling the app until the fix is released. closing a few windows everytime i locked my pc was just too annoying for a cute tool that basically grouped icons. im sure SD will have something for us soon.
if its fixed internally, then they are going through qa. be patient unless you want a potentially less stable release to come out the door. its not like fences is a mission critical type of tool. its cool, its clever, but seriously... they probably have a larger release that will include other enhancements that it is waiting on.
oddly the letter to me seems very old testament-ish. we, we ,we ,we. if i remember right, God eventually let them do it on their own occasionally to remind them how weak they were without Him. Israel gets wasted and disappears into something else for a time, before God re-establishes them.
the AI just gives up. especially on lower skill levels.
sweetness. i have high hopes for WB.
sweet! thank you SD. support you represent greatness.
and a nice DB application. maybe a house like FileMaker would be interested.
you should post a link to this mod on the impulse forum as well. so many peole there want this and may not seeing this post since they dont read the sins forums.
sorry it wasnt as fast as i hoped. got sins installed this morning on the netbook. i wsa able to see the buttons needed on the main menu screens and in once the game started. great work! i have an acer aspire one. its one of the older models with the 120 GB drive. 1gb ram. i knocked the effets settings down to almost nothing at initial performace on a small map was smooth. i can only image newer and faster netbooks will perform even better.</p
the only solution would be for someone to mod the game files and make hte buttons bigger. someone posted a model this week than adjusted things to work on a netbook so im guessing that its possible to go the other way too.
I have used Impulse a LOT longer than Fences. It is not the issue. I am sure Impulse will handle the licesing and update of the final product. I have no problem with that what so ever. Impulse does not soak system resources except for a tiny bit of HD space. Plus it offers easy management of the Stardock apps. So +2 to SD for Impulse. Least we are even now.
ya i saw up to 2 spawn. not a huge deal. if i needed fences or wanted it more it wouldnt even bother me.
also note that the sins does not require impulse to run, unlike steam which requires its client to be in the backgroup to play any of its games. the sins program files are located here... C:\Program Files\Stardock Games\Sins of a Solar Empire you can also use the archive feature which i am not as familiar with. somehow its process creates a *.impulse file that can then be moved and restored via impulse. if you go this route, follow kitkun's info above. g
I recently installed Fences to try it out on my work PC. Win XP Pro SP2 IE 7 Then, whenever I locked the workstation, a window Start Menu\Programs would be opened. When I unlocked, there the window sat, waiting for me. After I uninstalled Fences the problem went away. I don't really need a fix or anything, I just wanted to toss the behavior out in the open so could be checked into. Cheers.
since its your license it wont be an issue. i have sins on a laptop and my desktop at home, plus my wife will run it on her desktop for lan games. since we have a maximum of two installs running on my license at once within my lan, i beleive we are completely in agreement with the eula. sd please correct me if im wrong.
as started above, you can have multiple installs and up to two running concurrently on your LAN and still be within the EULA.
"Gamers can complete their Sins of a Solar Empire experience with the final micro-expansion of the series." Oh well. Hopefully it means they are gearing up for another masterpiece
I gave up and sent it in, it turns out I was eligible for an accidental damage warranty on it. Replaced the screen on my wife's machine myself. My machine is currently on a fedEx truck on it's way home.
amazing the way things work out. after all the frustration and worry and pain, you have to admit that there is a hand at work in our lives that is beyond our control.
note, that dead astroids will not bring in tax income. unless you need a dead astriod for a bottleneck or staging area they can be ignored. as TEC you can with the technology researched add one station to dead astroids. so you could add a trade port or broadcast center to them which would make the much more valuable. but of course takes a lot of time and resource to get to that point. finally, the low impact planets like astroids and dead astroids, astroid be
looks like there is only one selection for post execute program launch. you could write a bat file easily that would launch both the notepad readme file as well as the main app you want. then in the sfx advanced options point to the bat file.
i think most online people use entrenchment now. so make sure youre up to date and running entrenchment and you will likely find someone online.
there is a change maps button under the list of maps. if you only see one map there, then i wonder what it was that you really installed. [e digicons]:|[/e]
by far my favorite ss of all time is blank screen. how genius is that? maybe i can find one that makes it look like i am working.
that was very nice to let them win.
