Confused about Resurrection in Strategy Sins Forums

I have a question about Resurrection for the colony Advent. Is it possible to transfer an enemy's cap ship levels to your own ship? (I tried testing it but the enemy cap ship i killed was lvl 6 and it made the ship i wanted to use it on lvl 6, ironic) I checked the cap ship guide list. It just seems the description is a little vague. It transfers the souls of a destroyed cap ship to one of your own.

Is Sins of A Solar Empire too large in the Multiplayer Arena? I came to a idea that it just might be. I remember playing a game recently with about 6 other players in a free-for-all where we were scattered across 4 star systems. I ended up fighting a guy for over three hours to take a system for myself. The three other players eventually left or were defeated.
