Ahah I didn't even realize beta access was open to pre-orders until after I made the purchase. I've done betas before (real ones, even, with frustration and all), so this could be fun! You know, in the way that quarterly reviews are 'fun' >.> Totally worth it

I've been lurking on and off here for a long time, but held off on getting too hyped up about this without more information. Suffice to say that I've stumbled once again on this site and will be pre-ordering as soon as I can. GG, Stardock. GG.

Whatever it is, it's definitely NOT identical to the SupCom issue (I say that because I have SupCom and play it regularly and have never experienced ANYTHING like this.) Though I wouldn't rule out that the issue is related, I still have hope for this one

ahaha its definitely close, i'm giving it to Plants vs. Zombies on the merit of overall excellence based on single videos, but Stalin vs Martians wins if you're looking at the entire campaign ( look at the website, it's so offensive you HAVE to like it xD ) Plus, the singer of the plants vs zombies song is wai cooler than animated stalin

I actually get that too, it's more annoyingfor the narration at the end of the single player tournament, just because that's the closest thing to a reward you get for winning (and I love that man's glorious, glorious voice =P) I just attributed it to the /nosound issues, as mentioned in the pinned topic, but if other people are experiencing this too then i'm not sure

It's most likely because of the Peer to Peer nature of the connections and the ban on Peer to Peer connections that your college probably has (most of them do, to prevent piracy via torrenting and other p2p networks). Most games use a client/server hosting setup, where all clients connect to one server and communicate back and forth; the P2P system allows players to connect directly to one another and, theoretically, helps to improve performance in real time. Honestly, not sure if the
Game companies could start making a vicious virus and embedding it into their software that, if the exe is changed, the virus releases into the machine and shuts down all those who attempt to crack it. That would be an effective deterent... illegal, but effective. Granted the pirates will crack the virus file itself, but I suppose if it uses the system files themselves, it'd be far more difficult to track down.
You're ri

For end game oak, I usually try to get out a Mageslayer and Cloak of Flames, plus as much speed as I can (Boots of Speed, +15 percent favor, +15 percent other boots) and the 1500 gold helmet with 70% regen, usually in whatever order is most convenient at the time. That should be a sink of ~26-27k. If the money is rolling in I'll also usually opt to add the elven cloak as well for additional run speed (aanother 12k), or even ashkandor, but by that point it's just ridiculous =P I find g

I never even USE the idols (I feel like the money is much better spent on stat boosting items), but as the game stands the generals just AREN'T as army-based as advertised. Oak is my best example: His ghosts serve essentially two purposes, as far as I'm concerned: Scouting the map (something they're VERY good at) and providing DPS in conjunction with Oak's passive +dmg trait. Generals do have some unique tactics though that everyone should probably utilize more often, particularly the ability

esp. if there were a way to cut down the sound quality in game without changing it system wide. Perhaps I *LIKE* quadrophonic sound in my other applications. Though I will say that playing with /nosound has helped me rediscover my old Command and Conquer soundtracks. Frank Klepacki is MADE for composing RTS music =P

I like the fact that this thread exists. For someone who mentioned that nobody would purchase something that they didn't NEED to purchase for full functionality, I'd like to show you my shiny copy of Mass Effect, purchased long after completion of the game. Stardock has my $40. They didn't have it for the first few days I played demigod. I'll leave it at that. [e digicons]

Agreed on both points: With citadel upgrades, I generally go STRAIGHT for the tower health and splash damage upgrades as soon as possible, as well as the (first) mint. Where additional creeps are concerned, I generally won't upgrade those until either the enemy gets to angels or catapaults, or until their creep waves start getting uncomfortably close (I like to avoid giving that free extra xp). If a game stretches on, though, and players reach the upper levels, fielding giants before the

I find that playing with /nosound leaves me enough CPU power on my SINGLE CORE processor to run all of my normal background software as well as a killer tracklist in windows media player and still maintain a sim speed of ~4 on the largest maps 5v5, so it would seem that the game is perfectly optimized for the demographic with hearing problems :D I hate to think of the possibility that it's a motherboard issue; this board is socket 939 and replacing the board means more than repla

Well, I mean you CAN choose your color, if you have empty slots and you occupy the slot that you like but a drop down list, and some extra colors would be very nice. And something similar to the Army painter from DoW would be nifty (and probably easier to implement since it'd be for individual demigods rather than the whole team, though a lot of the nice details might have to be toned down to translate well with that, not sure)

I mean gaining experience FROM towers, not the towers themselves gaining experience. That'd be silly, why bother with the citadel upgrades then? >.>

I think giving Healing an assist status as well as creating an additional favor category at the end of the match would help solve this; granted, some matches would probably go to Oak, but that just means he's contributing =P

Tower experience would be nice, but only if it were minimal. As it is, as long as you're performing an action to help the team you get rewarded (xp for capping flags or farming creeps) and it works and keeps everyone in the game (at least if they want to stay in the same level range as the enemy). Adding a bit of XP for the towers would make some of those more remote flags more enticing without making the flags themselves game-breaking. At the same time, having NO xp for towers brings

At this point, looking at the history with SupCom, I'd be grateful to hear anything from the devs on this. Even bad news is better than being left in the dark. Though as I said before, I can't even imagine what aspect of a sound engine could justifiably double or triple system load. This would be easier if Demigod were a crappy game, then I'd just stop playing it xD
