At the end of the day these are commercials, but they are enertaining and informative previews. The more you can do for smaller titles like Gratuitous Space Battles the better. There are a lot of smaller games that would benefit greatly from a showcase like this.

It would be impossible for GalCiv to exist as a real time game. There is no way you'd be able to manage your fleets, conduct research, develop planets and all that other jazz in real time! IMPOSSIBLE! Oh wait... Sins does all that... Sins of a Galactic Civilization in 2012, sign me up!

This was a genre-blending niche game that suprised everyone by being such a big success. It is understandable that there wasn't a huge marketing push leading up to release. I'd imagine Sins of a Solar Empire 2 (when and if) would get a bigger marketing push.

Luckily the updates allowing for mod support have provided the community with a way to patch Demigod for themselves. Not an ideal situation, but its better then nothing.

Anyone on the outside looking in at Demigod would get the impression that the Stardock/GPG team up was a mess, but in reality it was quite impressive. And I can't imagine another publisher providing as much support and involvement as Stardock did. At least that was the impression I got as a beta tester. Demigod's problems were due to design decisions that in hindsight proved to be a mistake. Mistakes both companys have hopefully learned from. I think another

So I ended up winning using everyone's advice... Akkan vs. Sova - I built an Akkan since I already had that built before I saw the Sova advice. I did end up building a Sova in late game though. I can see how having a Sova first would make sense. A Sova could have cleared away the neutrals around my nearby asteroid just as easy (easier really) and I'd then have a colony frigate come in to claim it. That would leave me a stronger offensive capita

So would you suggest claiming what I can, protecting what I can then let them launch the first major offensive against me? Providing I survive should I then give chase and finish them off? That usually work?

Introduction I found Sins of the Solar Empire to be rather interesting when it was first released and the demo was certainly fun. But then I got distracted by the Demigod beta and other games and never got around to purchasing a copy for myself. The release of Trinity finally promoted me to start playing. I am a strategy and RTS novice. I play GalCiv2 and have reached a comfortable level of mediocrity over the years. I've put in my t

It is because a lot of people don't understand how big of a war rank bonus you get from holding multiple flags. Domination is usually the easiest mode to win online in skirmish/pantheon because chances are you opponents are busy gearing up for a conquest type victory while you are taking flags.
Odd thing is, some of us didn't have that issue in beta, even though it's now turning killer in release.
We did have a variation on that problem where you couldn't open a shop/citadel after closing it if you didn't first move. That was fixed, but somehow ended up with skill use in the release version. I know the beta and gamma codelines were different so that is why we didn't see it.

It is very enertaining just playing a single player Tournament mode to get you started. I would win a Hard tournament, or even a Nightmare tournament, in single player before jumping online. You can get online before then, of course, it can just be a brutal way to learn the game playing against other players. Demigod is a great game and multiplayer keeps improving so it is very much worth getting be it now or in a week.

When you are healed by a priest, be it a creep or idol minion, you receive an invisible debuff that prevents you from receiving healing from any priest again for 10 seconds. The buy-summon-resell trick doesn't get around this.

Favor items are usually part of my builds. In beta I had access to all favor items and it was a lot of fun to have a variety of choices at the start of the game. Hopefully the favor item problem gets fixed soon.

The Light will always triumph! Not sure why Dark lost this round. I didn't play Pantheon enough to get a feel for the Dark players. I do know we've seen a lot of focus on equipment and not enough focus on citadel upgrades and flag capturing. Once the playerbase starts figuring out the system better and learning to better manage and balance their spending we'll see better compeition online.
