The event has happened to me twice. Once it really helped me out as it took planets from the other civs more than mine. This time... not so much. The Jagged Knife did seem to have better soldiering at first but after researching a few technologies I am able to take over a 6 billion population planet with only 2 billion soldiers... most of the time. Once my Tir Quan is finished I'm really going to start rolling over them. I have my five core worlds back and am working on more

I was playing a game as my customized Mandalorians. Things were putting along. I had a great colony rush. I was starting to grab some Toxic and Radioactive planets. I had Drengin to my right and Yor to my left. The Krynn and Thalan had been paid off to wage long-distance, ineffective wars against me. I played this game a long time before I read, reread, and read again some strategies that finally made a big difference. In the past I would colonize quickly and tax the pants off my people to barely break even. My approval across the board would be in the red and, while I had a fair amount of planets, I never made any money. My civilization would stagnate and I had to wait out this economic "hump" until I started turning a profit. I started every game dead last. Now I grab about 4

I laughed pretty hard at that. I just picked up DA and had to turn down to Normal after getting my butt handed to me after two games (granted, I was boxed in corners in each with no bonuses on my homeworld but I still need the ego boost). My normal game started out with two Class 10's nearby in my own corner of the galaxy and my homeworld boasted three bonus tiles: 700% manufacturing, 300% research, and 100% influence. This will be a cakewalk <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smi

I'm on the edge of my seat, themocaw. Can't wait for the next installment. I've read Diary of a Terran Soldier in the meantime. Love your work!
