Although I am not visually impaired, I also find the "background" clouds (which seem in the foreground to my eyes) make it difficult to see what I want to focus on. I am constantly grabbing and moving the map to get the ship or whatever I want to look at out from under one of those purple-pink clouds. Yeah, I bet some folks love them as they add to the cool look of the field of space, but I just ignore them until they are in the way, then growl at them. It would help if the center of the view

I agree--give us back the old grid that is visible up close as well as farther out. Often I want to know the exact number of hexes to a target, or to flee a foe, or stay out a foe's sensor range, or setting up a starbase--the grid makes counting easy. And with my older eyes I often zoom in a bit to see better, even on my larger display, and then I loose the grid in .77A. So please restore the grid to how it was. Thanks!
