Hi guys, I know it's kind of off topic, but you can probably help me. I wish to spread some karma (you know this new gadget giving you karma points...) to some forumers but I couldn't figure out to do it so far.... Thanks

Nice summary above.. Since I play TA I find that races are pretty well balanced (better than in DA). The Yor and Korath are more likely to become quickly strong, but the gap between races is no more that big. It's really positive.
xiii). As far as I know the difficulty level does contribute too, but never knew how or how much... PS: with the immense maps in TA it may now be theoretically possible to reach 1 million points (Purge is perhaps already working on it... ;)
You play and play and play and upon a while when you can’t manage keeping your eyes open you feel ready for a shut down...but then the message appears asking you something like “are you sure you don’t want to take another turn?”. Ok ok, another turn but then its finished. At six o’clock in the morning your girl friend is showing up in the kitchen (becoming usually your empire office after midnight) saying: “you ain’t serious, are you?” PS: our kitchen has a 20x20cm clock on the w
The Kzinti empire has just sent an assault fleet to your homeworld. Enjoy the sight of it, because it's the last thing you'll see! *evil laugh*
Impressive, but the UNITED CONFEDERATION OF PLANETS is ready to welcome it first with some eggs and tomato throwing.. ..and then with our most impressive defenses (who's pictures won't show up on this post...sorry its top secret)
Allies are for the weak. As the saying goes"you should only make allies for two reasons. One, they offer you something you can only get from them. The second reason is if you cant beat them, then join them. If you make allyes just to protect your self, then you should never be a empire. If cant defend your self without alys then you are weak."
In fact you ally to get stronger, which automatically benefits for the allies in many ways...and this is what we did.
Yeah, I know it’s pretty unexpected but reasonable enough: we are proud to inform you that soldiers of the TALES of FREEDOM resistance are joining the UNITED CONFEDERATION OF PLANETS empire ! The UNITED empire is young and fresh and does not lack of “constructive” imagination, right guys? The most important aspect of this action is generated by the fact that the UNITED CONFEDERATION OF PLANETS shares pretty the same ideology like we do: “An
lol, you should join in the 'Metaverse ARR' (Or at least that's what I call it).there are some loopy ideas and stories been thrown around here.
You mean posting a AAR? Indeed there are stories to be told... or did you mean joining the Altmeta?
Hei guys, thanks very much for your empathy (also Kzinti, you old predator) ! Got somehow lost between work, transition, precipitation and the care of my 7 kids (joking, no kids man), but then suddenly heard the call of the wild with the twilight of arnor and knew there is absolutely some job to do. TALES OF FREEDOM is our resistance, “la revolution”, and tries to face the predators in our galaxy. It’s a tough job as you know, but we need to do it an
Fellaz, Since empires are born lately like mushrooms in the wood, we need to remind you boys and girls about the one and only empire out there, which is simply dedicated to good and neutral players . We are a bunch of warriors who resist the evil powers within the galaxy
Just as an aside: The Iconian have super crazy Merchand Centers Complexes (or something to that effect, I can't remember) that give a hefty 50% economic bonus. One per planet as well..
Agree, the Merchant Complex of the Iconians gives an incredible boost and you are amazingly never short of money. I played so far Altarians and went quickly broke, then tryed the Iconians and had enough money all over the game (+ Federalist party). In fact it is like having one Economi
TA is some big challenge regarding techs and I'am still trying to figure out which is the tech path with unique elements for each race and were some techs stop and can not be researched further. F.ex. the Iconians are simply not able to get advanced troops and their soldiering ability stops quite early in the game. Sure, you will need to get these techs somehow by trading them later on (very expenssive... X-( ). It makes the game interesting indeed. What I would love to is a o
The Yor showing kindness and compassion? Seriously, are you sure you did not mess up the civilisation settings before playing the game? Yor usually say something like: "What do you want?"...
Aiaiai, I just saw, that the post below mine handles exactly with the same issue!(sometimes it's better to first relax and observe things around you....) post:[link="https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=274&aid=167288#1386167"]WWW Link[/link] Ok, then I'am not the single one with this, please Stardock make the AI be sober again...
Hi there, I need to create a new post, because I simply couldn't find information related to my problems within DA latest update (098.e, 1.8). I hardly believe why no one wrote about this yet as I do not believe there is something wrong with my new HP machine...Here it goes: - downloaded the latest DA update as above, then: - problem 1: I select a fleet and give it a destination, but after the first movement it simply stops and I have permanently to manually move it to
...to answer your question, i build up my military later. I try to use treaties, trading and diplomacy to keep the wars away, even getting th two best militaries to fight eachother....Of course you have to have a better approval for reelection of your political party, so keep an etye on whn the election is and gt you approval up just before then. Now, it also depends on the map size, but these steps can help at the very beginning: - the game general settings are important (f.ex. a federalist party for a strong economy and maybe many anomalies to collect, which also can give some cash 4 free..) - buy the first factory (accelerates your planet's developpement). - buy the first colony ship (after this I usually stop buying things...). - let the population the first 2-3 rounds at 100% moral to grow quickly, than go down
Do you mean the medium hulls are not appearing? If you're just looking at completed ship designs, you may need other techs before those become available.
No, it was not about completed ships at all...in TA I do not have saved ships yet, it's just that after researching medium sized, I got the button at the top menu but couldn't select anything to create a new medium ship, thre was no list, it was just empty. Nevermind pals, I'll test it with the Beta3 and if th
A criminal thought: if the saved game files for latest stages of the game can be recalled and at the end posted to the metaverse under one's own character then this would make some happy 900k-game-christmas-faces... :d no, I was of course just joking... Thank you very much for the AAR, enjoyed reading and learning out of it !
Hi, I encountered the following: after having researched the tech for being able to build medium sized ships, the choice to select medium ships appeared right on the building menu but there was nothing to select out of it...it was just empty.. I don't know if this is an already found bug, even fixed within the Beta 3? Anyone else experienced this? Thanks
Yeah, okokok, I must admit the Kzinti Empire rose pretty fast on the top places within an incredible short time - I have to say well done ! PS: You guys should slow down a little, don't you think so... ?
I fully agree with doogles concerning the defences for good, mainly early in the game. As for the galaxy size, I’m not certain (I even experienced that on larger galaxies it can get easier: you have more time to recover during wars and planets are less frequently attacked as transports need more time to travel…) I guess important is: - choose quickly your good ethical alignment early on and put your now bigger defences on ships, as many as possible, because once evils are attacking for
I thought we already ate all these people. They are so sweet and nice and juicy... *drool*
No Kzinti as you can see we still here and alive! Your even larger claws may threaten the freedom within our galaxy and create disorder under the shadow of war, but we will continue simply without giving up the hope for freedom and peace. PS: lately a kzinti-kitty came to our doors saying "...I want to be good again, please let me join the TALES OF FREEDOM empire..."<b
hi, I don't know GalCivI well, but II is certainly a much better game. Now, If transports have no weapons built on and getting alone into trouble, then you better rush them back home, they simply won't be able to attack and are without any defence... I never put weapons on troops (too expenssive), but as company I give them an attack ship and usually send first some warships to clean the way out...
