You know, Multiplayer wouldn't obligate stardock to create host servers and all.. Just a Hotseat function would already be good...plus maybe... a TCP/IP connection, so we can directly connect... I used to play that way long before game servers existed, and even when they did, to beat their restrictions i often ended up doing so. I don't ask for game servers, which would honestly be a mistake, but those people dedicated enough to long games that could be saved and picked up later on could pla

I guess it's a game engine problem. Might be that the engine asks too much for slower machines, but i mean, I have a very...average system(yet am able to play anything with reasonable effects) which consists of an AMD Sempron 3400+ processor, a ATI Radeon X1600 Pro 256Mb Vid card(which is connected in agp 8x, my mainboard doesnt support PCI Express), 1.5Ghz of ram operating at 333Mhz... It cost me less than 500$ (CDN) to upgrade my system to that level, and honestly, I'm satisfied

when do pirates appear? Aside from prison pirates(which had consisted in three small-sized craft i wiped out in a single turn) I never had trade pirates. and I've got alot of trade routes(playing neutral with master trade, i think it gives me like 15 trade routes total) Though I'm not stupid, and I try to keep a few ships on patrol near my most profitable trade routes.

usually use 1000 soldiers and the most damaging invasion "tactic" I have available. My invasion force gets toasted but usually takes at least half the enemies with them. Now my main force can easily take the planet without too many casualties and without damaging the planet. So you saved a lot of your soldiers and probably some of your transports for the small investment of one small and thus cheap transport. How could this be a bug if it's a tactic that's been used for thousands of yea

Honestly a terraformer would be a very logical idea, but some planets must remain impossible to colonise. I mean, as much as one can change the atmosphere of a planet, colonising a Gas Giant would be a hard task... Aside from mining colonies of a few hundred workers, I wouldn't see anything done there...

Leppla, Maybe because he wanted to ensure you'd understand. If the topic had been french-only, you wouldnt have understood the point and either ignored the post or post something saying to speak english. I am a francophone that fluently speaks english, but on english websites, I won't start speaking french. It's a matter of respect.

arrgh! no terror stars! But honestly, bombarding a planet until all life has been wiped from it could be fun. instead of colonising planets you conquer, you could simply turn them into uninhabitable balls of dust XD

indeed the save game bug is annoying, if only because that dead turn is stupid, and because it's impossible to miss... i mean, as soon as you load up a game.... as for the 2nd bug, i hadnt noticed. I'm not one to give shitloads of attention to the minute details of my planets, but i see this would certainly be worth correcting.

besides, shadow's right. the final battle took place in orbit above the arnor homeworld, besides, if we look through the site, we can find interesting documents about the arnor and dread lords... which is why i know the dread lords were stronger XD

wasn't it a mithrilar(sorry if mispelled) that simply sealed both of them away? anyway... the story needs development, lol

hmm, you guys are using a good strat. I often balance my fleets however, using at least 2 types of weapons, and the appropriate defense. I'll have to pull up my stats sheet i made... i'll post it as soon as i find it XD

i think minor races should be allowed to expand off their world, if given hyperdrive. i think it's slightly stupid for minor races who are given hyperdrive early in game and don't take advantage to make a coloniser or something...especially since hyperdrive is such an important tech to all major civs as THE breakthrough for expansion.

indeed, its nice to see suggestions being taken for enhancing the game. i had read about the different races all living on the same type of world. having different types of worlds on gigantic maps could prove interesting, as most planets would probably end up being habitable with the proper upgrades. I'm not worried about patches to the normal galciv. there's still alot of bugs to fix and maybe a little option or two that could be added One thing is certain, SD needs to
