Ah thanks peterh1979. Yeah, I believe there are a lot of things that could be tightened up with invasions. I remember in GCIII there were invasion issues as well but the devs fixed them so I'm certain they'll fix them at some point.

When you select the shipyard, you'll get icons of all ships stationed. Click the one you want (or use CTRL+click to select multiple) and then right click a hex just outside the shipyard. It took my awhile to figure this out as there's no documentation

Ah. That's a good point. Hadn't thought of the angle. Although one could then make the argument that a few of the other planetary improvements should be destroyed as well. Like a few of those 15 Research buildings.........

I echo the above comments from DivineWrath. If the world is unsupported then manufacturing is going to be tough. I colonize it anyway. Then I can then send supply ships or build an orbital manufacturing station to help boost things along. I usually wind up having that Core World build asteroid miners, Colony ships, Explorers, etc.

After 3 straight hours, GC isn't the only thing beginning to slow down. Once I see this lag get too much, I figure it's time to shut things down and go eat/nap/feed the dog/etc etc. Seems like we had this problem in GCIII as well. Then the wizards fixed it

I see a Mimot and switch everything to military production. Those furry cute-looking war mongers won't get me. You do bring up a good point though about them being war mongers. I'd like to know how the heck they get so far ahead so early

I echo the previous post. I usually leave non-combats alone such as supply, colony, freighter etc. and focus on creating specialized military ships. One tweek that I use a lot is removing the survey component from the survey ship and adding additional sensors. Creating a ship that can see many hexes to serve as a sentry. Then creating a ship with a lot of moves and a single railgun (or beam). Then when those pesky Torians start sending a stream of colony ships

I've just run across this bug too. Very frustrating but I'm sure the wizards will fix it and then all will be well. In the meantime, this does allow me to accomplish some things around the house. Bathing, eating, sleeping, yard work, going to work, etc etc, etc.

I find it annoying as well except that I'm thinking adding this feature/functionality would add a lot of additional processing. Consider every time a ship/fleet moves anywhere, it needs to do a check each hex. Repeat for all your ships. Repeat for every ship in the universe. Maybe this is why it wasn't added in GC3. I personally do not do auto-survey/explore as I want to see where the goodies are

In addition to the technology. In IV you'll now need to build starbase modules before you can mine resourses. This is new. Building modules also requires researching a specific tech.
