Brad, I don't usually comment, but I wanted to correct a couple of things... Google is filing friend of the court briefs, no sueing. Yes that means that they are attempting to sway the courts, but not actually sueing. Google is late to the party. Most of the rest of Silicon Valley jumped in months ago. Some took out full page ads before the election to sway voters, others contributed money on either side of the cause. Finally, they a

*sigh* I was there. I probably passed them in the halls. I have been working on my application for an MBA program, and not on the Galciv2 site... I found out I missed them this morning, when I was paging through the convention guide and Cari's name jumped out at me! Ah well, maybe next time... Schu
Funny, I read that line (The Altarians being conquored) as being part of a game, not that they were gone from the game... The Schu
Vanir, Just a thought, in order to win an alliance victory, they have to build an alliance with you in it. Hence, you also win. Of course, anyone can have the military victory As for the tech victory, I think I remember in GCI, there was a box for the AI to win a tech victory. But I could well be wrong about that... The Schu
MarshallONeil, A very clear explaination of hte situation, my thanks. And I agree that the production does not roll into a new ship. Although I thought that the social queue did do that. (If someone could confirm or deny this that would be great.) Research does roll over, but as I noted, it goes into the next tech in that line (a problem if there is no next tech in the line) and not into the next tech the player chooses. (Hence the fact that you can get seve
Pardon my ignorance, but... I have noticed that research already gets rolled into the next tech in the reseach line. Note that is different than what you asked, that it go into the next tech chosen instead, but I find this way to be more realistic and quite acceptable to me. As for the production, that does not get rolled over, but I thought the game banked (or did not spend the credits for more correctly) "excess" military production. Social excess automatically goes to
Random, As a software developer I can tell you why documentation edits lag the software realities (or are plain wrong). It boils down to a number of reasons. 1. Most developers hate to write documentation, and hence just block out that part of the product from their thinking. 2. When things are in a state of flux, edits to docs tend to be dlayed so we only have to do them once, once they are not in flux, the edits are forgotten... 3. The documentation falls t
Maybe I am strange, but I would think that the system should not have to be changed just to compensate for the players that have no honor... On the other hand, since I am still playing the demo (next month I should finally be able to afford the game perhaps I have even less honor.. The Schu
I am sure there are a blue million posts around about the starbases, but it is faster to just give the answer here. Send another constructor to the SB in question and you get to add a module. As for the search, I am not sure how well it works, but there is on in the left hand column, under the recent posts section. The Schu
Use troops transports, then you can make use of the "excess". But as I understand post 1.1, the growth rates are greatly reduced, so I am suprised that anyone has "surplus"... TheSchu
I have to agree that in my expereince MP is not worth the extra effort. But then, i am not a big fan of trying to find opponents that can play for 20-30 min at 5:30 AM on weekdays. Just not worth the effort for me... The Schu
Ok, I did not read all the responses, but I wanted to suggest that for the 1.2 fora, make a seperate Beta section. That should help. As for the $9 ship pack, I think it is a bit steep, but I can't even afford the $40 base price atm. At Otherwise I would have purchased by now instead of endlessly playing the demo <img src="http://imag
Does it really cost extra? I never checked... The Schu
Ok, I have 2 authors that were not mentioned. For Space Opera (think Star Wars) Try EE "Doc" Smith. For an great series about the comman man in the wrong (right?) place, try the Heechee Saga by Fred Pohl. The Schu
Ok, this is the first thread to get me to actually log in and post Any rate, I second all the comments about MoM being an old favorite game. The Schu
