How do you do this in the steam version? I want to experiment with the map settings.
One thing I don't like with the new UI is on the planet view screen the colored outlines around the different tile types on the planet have gone away. You can see the color outline if you put your cursor over the tile but not by default. It was better before when you could use the colored outlines(orange for industry, blue for research etc...) to get a visual feel for how you wanted to develop a planet at a glance. Note sure why this change was made. If the colors were thought to make things
Great info scifi1950! Thank you!
Sometimes you pick a bad or mid level governor for a core world because that's all that is available but is there a way to replace that governor with a better one once you find one? I can't seem to find a way to do it.
I thought the galaxy size setting set the size for the entire galaxy in the game but some of the responses here seem to indicate it sets the size of your starting sector. Is this the case? Does galaxy size set your sector size and number of sectors sets your overall galaxy size? When I hover over that setting the tool tip says overall galaxy size.
Well this is lame. Any plan to fix this?
Any patch notes on this one? I'm not seeing any. Nevermind I thought this was about today's GalCiv 4 update. Although if anyone has patch notes on that one it would be appreciated. :)
Anyone else getting this error? The game crashes right after. Happened to me once before and I had to reinstall the game and reinstall it. Worked for the rest of that evening then I try to play again a couple of days later and it happens again.
I would love an option to start a custom civ on a random starting system instead of having to choose the starting system of another pre-existing race.
"Turns now represent ONE MONTH instead of ONE WEEK" It's a minor thing, but it shows the devs are really listening. I for one appreciate it!
"Changed turns to weeks" that's too bad. The whole idea of starting on one planet and building a galaxy spanning empire over a time span of 5 or 6 years has always been immersion breaking for me in this series. The rest of the changes sound great though, eager to try them. [e classic]:D[/e] Edit: I see there is still a toggle in the settings to show the turn or the date so that is good. I have a ship where the latest design includes armor against kinetic weapons. New ships have that armor but previously built ships do not. Is there a way to retrofit the older ships to the latest design?

[quote who="shayvaan" reply="8" id="3809044"] My present game is on turn 147. I have the first two subspace techs and am cheerfully exploring other sectors, while refusing to share said techs. I am playing in an Immense galaxy, with only 4 AI (two of which are in my home sector, the others are in their own sectors). I am currently exploring my third empty sector. One has been swept of all non-heavily guarded anomalies and is being colonized and the second is
Yeah I always get an opponent right near by and they tend to aggressively expand in to systems I already have colonies in. I will be testing out the military system in this game shortly to remedy the situation. [e classic]:hot:[/e]
When you select how many opponents you will have, is that how many opponents will be in your sector or in the entire galaxy?
