WinCustomize ForumsI find this whole bit quite amusing. The G4 AS IS can run two instructions per clock cycle - yet you don't hear apple or motorolla branding 1ghz G4's as 2ghz. The G4's pipeline is only 7... compared to a whopping 20 for the P4. Placing it in simple terms, this allows the instruction to pass through the G4's pipeline over twice as fast as one would on a P4. Put one plus two together, and it is easy to see why a dual 1.25ghz G4 system can encode to DVD roughly TWICE as fast as a 2.53ghz P4. <b
