Hi Kryo, thank you for the absolute quick answer, wow ! Well, honestly I doubt that DA won´t share any text file with DL. At least I made this experience with some other games in the past. And it was too weird to enjoy playing, I can tell you ! But since you are the pro, so I trust your word.
Galactic Knight
Hello there, it´s been quite a while for me to have a look into this nice board. Well, here is another gamer who is interested in obtaining the add-on. I bought the "collector´s edition" in Germany (beautiful country, by the way ). I´m just curious whether it really works, "pat
If I did my vote on the poll, I would have been found on the few 5%´s. But that´s a specific reason - as I played the German Version 1.0, and did not download any betas (nor being able to play with version 1.0X). Now as the update 1.1 was released, my opinion changed. Congrats for that good work ! ps: try to improve your score with GalCiv III
Grammar or spelling errors, included on purpose, can submit an authentic, often humouric feeling. Even today I still remember that one text line from the very old Nintendo NES Game´s manual of Zelda1: "was dies ? we bin ich ?" Absolute precision in any case is not possible, unless you are a machin
I often experienced this issue in GC1 before, and I appreciated it very much. Either the attacked party (considering I was the offender) offered their last planet to their best friends, the strongest civilization but mine, or they gave it to their brothers in mind (either good, neutral or evil civs). Since this issue could force you to totally change your strategy at sudden, I appreciate this impressing feature - especially on small or tiny maps with few colonizable planets.
@Skelton42: That´s exactly what I meant. I used to "frickel" here and there for updating the starbases before, and that was kinda boring I can tell ! I love to micro-manage, but not for all gold... Good hint ! Enjoy yourself. Edit quote: In the full changelog: + NEW FEATURE: You can select a planet on the main map and then use Z and X keys
Chose the retail section - I just downloaded and started the game (you have to input your S/N, the upper one on the manual if bought in germany / collectors edition). Works fine, as Nakor said all texts so far recognized stayed german (maybe some translation errors as before still remain, when researching technology or so... can´t say for sure now )
Long time no see. Thank you guys for that final patch. Must have been said. Great news for all non-english version gamers: The game keeps the installed primary language (at least for german I can guarantee) I still miss the function from GCI to launch ships out of orbit after construction (it was a handy candy), but okay maybe I have overseen it. Intro still pl
As long as the AI of a strat game is able to mount some kind of a coordinated attack on me and threaten to clean me out, I'm happy.
That´s the point, puzzling how to solve a certain "problem" might be fun if everything is well organized and you´re up to it. Well, Battle Isle 1 and "History Line" followed the same pattern (History Line´s setting was 1st WW), with split screen where one was "moving" and the other one taking various actions, always changing tur
Hello Ray, as you know the AI always reacts to the same pattern in every game, in that case you quickly find methods to exploit it´s "weaknesses". In most cases a harder difficulty results in an advantage for the AI by having more items right at the beginning (which you have to research or build at first), and there will be a more advantageous multiply factor for the different calculations. As for that instance I recommend you to test "Battle Isle II", which does not follow thi
Ah! Seems you escaped from my wrath. ;) Jep. Then wait and see when you´re going to read german texts hehe ;) (but don´t even try to interprete asian letters... :SURPRISED: )
Thank you as always, Phoenix ! :)
And I think I have read too fast: I have read "unhabited" instead of "inhabited". Not quite the same meaning
Sorry but for that instance you shall suffer eternally in hell :sniff!: *checking the sharpness of guillotine´s cutting-edge* Uhmm... no better not - I still might have good use for you ;) (hope you can take a little joke ! :) )
Hey there, :) I do come up with another curiosity: Yesterday I continued my game for only 1+/- hour but there were two odd occasions: Right at the absolute beginning of the game (after it finished loading) there was the Torian "Prime Minister" (sorry I don´t know the english word for this guy) on the diplomatic screen who gifted me 43cash for 3 turns. Nice I thought and accepted. THEN came the Research Screen and the Earth Screen, which usually appear at the start of each l
@Crusher: Good question ! Version 1.05 did not include that option, but as I´m now playing 1.20 I was just curious and tested that button (in order to learn how my present progress goes). Will there be special notifications at the end of the game or by submitting to metaverse, even when I´ve eventually won (or maybe score reduced etc...) ?
when moving my transport to another system I invade their system = all inhabited planetsNope, only habited planet. SOrry, I wasn't enough clear.
Still not understood. Does that mean I have only to fight once, but against their combined defense power ? Honestly, the game mechanics are indeed somewhat sophisticated... it´s nice that even when you think you understood how the game works, there still might be something you probably missed (thinking of events, at leas
Transport are reusable ships that allow you to move a limited number of people betwen a system and another , owned by any race (including your)
i.e. when moving my transport to another system I invade their system = all inhabited planets. The remaining soldiers after the fight then represent the own population which is split over all formerly inhabited planets of that system. And moreover that means there are not systems inhabited by more than one race !?! <b
I got to correct myself. You can already note at round no. 1 , which sectors inhabitate all other major civ´s home planet. But it´s okay, that way I could get into debt rather early in my "normal" game for rush-completing a Trade Good which boosts speed for 20% (don´t know the english name for that, playing german version 1.20). Of course it would ruin my empire normally, but as I can trade with the farthest civ now (without having seen them before, just were se
No I did not. But I know what you mean. But as I´ve been told, it ain´t got the quality as it´s predessors.
*applause to our generous math-magician* :CONGRAT: *sigh* :D It´s really a good thing to have individuals like him in a community - I´m quite thankful to have such great assistance. :)
Got another question the battle formulas how they calculate exactly. If I understood the formula properly, the battle goes like this: The offender dices a value between Zero and it´s Attack value. Then the defender dices between Zero and it´s Defense value. Then you have to subtract the defender´s dice value by the offender´s. These are the damage points against the defender. Then both swith their roles, and the battle continues until one explodes. Questions:<
@Chipperoo: In my present game I now came to the point struggling with the perfect balance of morale and income for the reasons exactly as you told. But I thought building colony ships is only suitable for colonizing uncolonized planets, and when one plans to "transfer" population you have to build transports. True ? And another question, am I right that transports carry up to 1,000 pop and battle transports up to 5,000 ?
Mine even came to it´s limits with Fallout2... ;) And going out with my office laptop isn´t ever the best solution. Concerning empires: Let´s handle this in the other topic (think about the subject of this topic and how it evolved now... ;p )
Don´t think that the metaverse AI is that kind of smart recognizing every single player´s skills and being able to improve difficulty by the appropriate extent and not all at once - since that will strike newbie players.
Phoenix, don´t blame me for my cakewalk setting ;) - you know I´m still a small bug, but I´m growing :HOT:
Aliens indeed got suicidal tendencies. ;) I was surprised too but maybe it´s the reason why humans and aliens simply can´t live together... It´s weird though, but I can live with this.
