Here's an image. First, some context: the image you see is 1920x1080 but the screen I use is actually 3840x2160 on a 32" monitor. I spend much of my time at a zoom level like this because I can see wide swaths of the galaxy while clearly seeing ship, star base and planet locations. I'd just like to be able to toggle off the planet "labels" so I can see what's going on underneath without having to zoom into the area I'm interested in and thus losing the larger context. Would really like to see this question answered by the devs.

I'd really like an option to assign a key to toggle off planet "flags" when I press it. I find they really obscure the tactical view around the planets. Apologies in advance if there is such a key; I've searched for something like it but have not come up with anything.

Kudos too the OP for his extremely detailed post! I've encountered many of his observations. The developers really need to pay attention to this list.
