Charles: Did you see this:
I've said for years that there should be a "Tasers for Teachers" grant program somewhere. Of course, I've always said it tongue in cheek. When it comes to a student or parent weilding a gun, a taser isn't going to do me any good. Sarcasm is a wonderful communication tool, and you should

I've said for years that there should be a "Tasers for Teachers" grant program somewhere. Of course, I've always said it tongue in cheek. When it comes to a student or parent weilding a gun, a taser isn't going to do me any good. Someone's going to die, whether its a student, and administrator, or myself. I teach in a public elementary school. While I worry about school shootings, its not like I lose sleep over it or anything. With all of the millions of s
If it's any consolation, I don't have any children, I'm a teacher, and *I'M* ready to go back to school. I love my husband, but Mondays together (after Saturday and Sunday together, too) about drives me nuts. I think I find too much of my worth in school and other people's children. I can't wait for September 2nd, though...
1. Who makes you laugh the hardest? I have lots of people that make me laugh. My students are usually hilarious, just because they're seven and eight. My colleagues, especially on Bunco nights. And my husband. 2. What are five things you can't live without? Shampoo. Clean underwear. My meds. Chocolate. Music. 3. What is the dumbest thing you've ever done? Hmmmmmm...how do I pick? I'd say meeti
I said something really damn insightful and full of freakin' karma earlier, but my computer choose to, at the very second I submitted my reply, to randomly disconnect from the internet. Lovely. I love my husband, and I'm in love with him, too. Both ways. The days when I want to rip his nads from his ballsack and shove them down his throat, I still love him, but I don't necessarily like him for that moment. I don't know that we've ever had the flowery, hippy-dip
Come on...you know that intimacy is required to make babies, and that doesn't happen at our house. It's cute! Maybe if I won it he'd get the message, right? lol ;-)
So I'm sick of being fat. I've really been trying to get the eating under control, and I've been trying to be much more active. I'm putting the foot down today. I had oatmeal and a cheese stick for breakfast, and a grilled chicken and swiss, 3 mozzarella sticks and a med. curly fries from Arby's (I know...that was a horrible lunch. Tomorrow is another day, however), a cheese stick for a snack, and a spoonful of egg noodles and some roast beef for supper
Kelly: I did that...I've tried every code they give me and none of them work. I don't know what the trick is. I'm obviously not a computer whiz by any means. I'm lucky I can type. Do you have any other ideas to make it work?
This is a total retry of the stupid slideshow I tried earlier. It probably won't work, but maybe SanCho can fix mine, too. Although mine's not nearly as racy as LW's...lol. :) http://w299.photobucket.com/pbwidget.swf?pbwurl=htt
I am so with you. And I totally used to be one of those Christianese people, until I figured out that if I'm supposed to "recruit new Christians," (and hopefully that isn't Christianese), I have to cut the crap. People don't know what that Christianese crap means, and frankly, they don't care. You have to show people you're a Christian by how you live, and it's that simple.
Have you ever heard of "Scentsy"? A few ladies at my school sell it, and it's really cool! You have kind of a vase with a low wattage bulb, and on top is a little bowl. You order these blocks of smelly wax, and you melt it in the warmer. The only issue that I could see with you and your little ones is the hot wax. Our idiot cat tipped it over and we almost had to shave him. It's not as expensive as the candles, and *I* think there's some really good stinks
I so sorry for your loss, Tova. I'm *SO* glad you got to spend some time with him. Know that you and your family will be in my prayers.
You are like an ostrich with its head stuck in the ground. (Wait, was that an insult? A personal attack? More like a simile I guess.) JU is a microcosm (I'm sure I didn't spell that right) of the real world. You function under the assumption that everyone here is Christian and "Jesus doesn't like swear words!" I think you need to grow up a little bit and maybe poke an eyeball out of the sand so you can get a clue what the real world is like. Jesus i
The older Izzy gets the more she looks like her brothers. I thought she was the pizza delivery boy's at first. ;-) j/k. You're cute, the kids are cute. ANd don't worry, to get a picture of MY ass, Ry has to use a wide-angled lens. You're good for a couple hundred more pounds my dear. lol
I want to have a baby. Can I pout now? :) Congratulations! I think you need another girl to even up the score!
I'm not saying that people cannot reform, merely that they have to pay for their sins.
By that premise, you should be executed, too.
Hear this: You are all fake people and you deserve to not be treated with Christian kindness from our uber-Christian! And only three of you are worth meeting and worth Era's time! Ugh. Seriously. I give up. I want nothing to do with Christians like you. THIS is the reason why people FLEE Christianity. This attitude...
The voucher system would allow parents to choose whatever school their kids would go to, but I have issues with that, too. God help all of you, that's what I have to say.
I'm with Loca. Who's to say that someone's heart can't be changed? Take, for instance, Jeffrey Dahmer, you know, the human lunch meat guy? I watched an interview he did before he was killed in prison, and I ended up in tears. He did HEINOUS things during his life. But at the end of his life he professed to be a Christian. My cousin is also a murderer. He spent over ten years in prison. He went in a hateful, spiteful young man, and came o
Okay...since my husband is the kind of person who can go weeks without (WHAT ABOUT ME, JERK???), I'd have to say sex, since we go without it for weeks at a time anyway. Which is unfortunate for me. lol. And I like to be clean. :)
Right on, SanCho (btw...I love Utah...if they didn't pay teachers crap I might try to convince the husband to move someplace where there's grass and trees and a little less wind...like Logan. Or Brigham City. Do they let you in if you're not Mormon? ;-) j/k). Era...the issue is your holier-than-thouness that you exude. You REFUSE to listen to people. You might read what people are saying, and although no one expects you to adopt every "idea thrown out there," the proper, respectful
Or even better, a GAY teacher? Or your kids had to go to school with a child who had gay parents? Oh, the heresy!
Education really isn't about "fair." Is it fair that students who have difficulty learning get to go to special classes? Why don't gifted students get more special classes? Education, really, is about doing the best with what you've got these days. We barely have enough time to teach the basics, let alone teaching Christian "tolerance" to the Buddhist, Muslim, etc. students at school. You teach kids that people are people no matter what. That's all you can
Holy crap, batman. I don't know if it's JU or photobucket, but now THIS isn't working. Here's the URL if you care. I'll come back later to see if I can fix something. Ugh. http://s299.photobucket.com/albums/mm284/marciegargano/?action=view¤t=9c28294c.pbw
So I cart my little camera all over, and I think it takes darn good photos. So...I've got some. I don't know that you haven't seen some of them, but I think most of them you haven't, and I think they're just on Facebook. I get confused. Anyway, enjoy the show!
